here's another weekend update...
today, the nationwide state of alarm ended in spain. in various areas (our 'autonomías') the nightly curfew ended with that, but as you may have read, here on the balearics, it continues for another two weeks. it's not the only area within spain btw. so from today onwards and until 23rd may for now, these rules are valid:
this is the current epidemiological situation
the last few days have also brought a summer feeling. we went to beachouse's opening on friday - the beach club and restaurant was buzzing and it really almost felt normal (with the exception of having to put on your mask if you need to walk to the toilet from your bed or table). then we went to formentera, which is still quiet, but absolutely gorgeous and since it's all about the beaches while you're there, you really only need the mask quickly when entering a supermarket or to enter a restaurant and until you're at your table.
of course the news coming from the UK regarding all of spain staying on 'amber' for now was a dampener, but we stay optimistic this will be reversed in a few weeks with the good epidemiologic situation we have and the vaccination campaign picking up speed.

- bars & restaurants may open and fill 100% of their outdoor areas and stay open all day until 10:30pm every day.
- the nighttime curfew is still valid between 11pm until 6am
- to get to the balearics, you still need a negative PCR test
- reunions are limited to 6 people at a time
this is the current epidemiological situation
- ibiza's 14d incidence per 100k pop is at 37, the 7d one is at 11. positivity rate is at 1.5%. stable and safe.
- formentera is currently corona free!
- vaccine progress: according to the gov't we're now at 28% of pop with one (or single) dose and 12% with both jabs. as you can see the numbers do go up every time I post an update.
