Cocoon20 - Discussion thread

I think so yes, not least because they changed hï‘s opening time to 11:30pm for this summer generally. I guess in a month or so we'll know for sure
Very strange that you would deny yourself an hours takings in a 10k capacity venue.

can't be open air obviously, and also all the big clubs already got an event (including cova santa).
I guess they could join luciano at his closing night but don't know about that. underground is also a possibility but that would be rammed to the rafters.

Underground with wristband only type thing maybe.

I think Vista could be the front runner though …

I was thinking about this coming Saturday after Ushuaia

oh, I got confused. I thought you guys were talking about an afterparty after the kraftwerk gig on september 13th.

The cocoon ig has been posting of worker passes available for Ushuaia events, with hï also mentioned? One offs also there?

more dates, source mixmag

sun 16th june cocoon20 at pete tong‘s blue marlin session

fri 19th july sven väth - ??? at usuhuaïa

mon 9th september sven väth at circoloco

the two last dates aren‘t marked as cocoon20 gigs though eh

sven also leaving it pretty open as to how cocoon's future on the island gonna look like. words were something like 'I love ibiza and will always be here if there's a crowd for it - but maybe not with a proper residency in the future'.

johannes and sven at IMS right now, being pretty candid about how things went for them last year.

Pacha has its identity. They came to us with an idea to change that image, reducing the VIP and moving the focus to the dance floor. Very soon we realised this was just words. The reality was different.” - Johannes Goller

... rather more diplomatic than Sven's words!! ?

Not quite sure what their point is to be fair. Pacha couldn’t fill much VIP for Cocoon, so not sure there was a focus there? ...There was no demand there. Sadly Cocoon / Pacha couldn’t get normal punters through the door last year (sadly), and with lowest ticket prices most of us have ever seen in Pacha. Without going over old ground, Wednesday was probably what killed it.

Or maybe they are attracting less people than before..
I'm not a specialist, but it seemed they almost never filled the place last year, and I will be curious about this year @ Amnesia.
