Cocoon @ PACHA discussion

Even without knowing what Pacha will look like, I think that's a mighty fine line-up which sticks to their mantra of quality > quantity whilst retaining a "Cocoon" feel with headline guest and Flash Artists.

I wonder if Sven will open then hand the reins to Kristen before taking over again to close?
 
I think its interesting smaller artists are in the second room but would still prefer at least one big name in the second (Nina Kraviz for example). They still might on some dates when the lineups come out but if not its still good because often I end up staying on the terrace at Amnesia with the bigger DJs anyway. Will be really nice seeing Cocoon DJs at Pacha (Ricardo? Or is this guy gonna do Pyramid Mondays only??)

the venue will set out the night experience more than the label name itself.

cocoon @ amnesia will be 100% different than pacha in terms of music, experience & crowd.

for me - ill not be going to cocoon pacha with the same mindset of going to cocoon amnesia.

Generally speaking, Cocoon has always been 2, maximum 3 DJ's in any room on any given night. I guess what you mean is that you're used to seeing bigger lineups across both rooms, which in fairness is still to be seen and is dependant upon the size of room 2 and how Pacha have change the club. We are still patiently waiting to see on that one :lol:
 
Format hasn't changed has it? Used to be 2 dj's in each room - you might have had a live act sandwiched between them at some points but the live act only played an hour and who's not to say that there won't be similar in the week by week line ups. Solomun +1 is a fixed format with guest, solomun then solomun + guest b2b. We know that Sven as a rule doesn't play b2b do no comparison in my view.

they have the same amount of artists as they used to in amnesia, two in one room and two in the other one. that is why I neither understand nor agree to your 'solomun plus one' statement. mladen has one room and one guest only.

pacha is half the capacity of amnesia, alone from a calculation point of view it was obvious they wouldn't be able to have the same line ups in there as they used to previously.

me too. my feelings toward cocoon at pacha are strange: when I first heard about the move I was disappointed. after a few days and weeks and with further information I got more positive and excited about the move and looked forward to it.
now as the season is approaching I find myself going in the opposite direction again, growing sceptic and really starting to miss amnesia already. It will be soo strange to go to pacha on a monday for sven after all these years.

I think we all think to much sometimes (me included). Get in the club, down 5 Vodkas, do what else you have to do and dance to the music!
