Cocoon 2015

they'll play the terrace mr_why.

it'll be very busy, but not unbearably packed for sure.

also re cocoon...next week cova santa on tuesday according to cova santa homepage.

HaHa. I'm confused. I thought it was Terrace, then moved to Club Room...... is it now back at the Terrace......

To be honest, I don't think it will be CRAZY busy (just going from past years)! If you look at the Coccon ticket prices they start to drop a little last week of August as a few less people around. Personally I quite like the last week of August - still peak season but just a bit more room! My next trip isn't until this week, so will probably do it. I think they are now both in the Club Room this year as opposed to Terrace for the last few, so that should mix it up a bit. Never seen Richie in the Main/Club room.

Also, remember that Sven & Richie are also at Space/ENTER the following Thursday so that may spread the load of people a bit (unless you're a nut like me and do both)! And Sven at Space is a treat....

Cheers for the reply. I actually forgot they were playing at enter together as was so focused on the first night. That's gonna dilute the crowd a bit which will be good. Nothing worse than a club so packed you can't move in it. I think it will have to be cocoon the first night so

Heading over on the 24th of august and was gonna head to cocoon for richie and sven. Will it be overly packed? I know it's gonna be a busy night but will it be so packed you can't move? Seen richie at paradise two years ago and it was crazy busy. Couldn't move and left after an hour so was wondering will this be similar?

I've seen Sven and Richie in 2012 at the terrace and it was superb...that time sven was upset about the Enter and Music on issue and it was very nice to see how both were having fun tighter and all other dj's supporting them.
Sven made a high level warm up for richie and it was crazy.
You should go...Amnesia is much bigger than DC-10.

5pm I think.
who do you think will be playing cocoon afters?

There seems to be a reoccurring theme this year with 'after hours' starting well into the next day. I seem to remember Cocoon after parties always starting around 10-11 and continuing on into the evening.

I've never really understood having an after hours 9-10 hours after the original party has ended.

Bit of a debate on this in another thread. I'll always stick up for him as I'm a big fan and honestly he's right up there for me, not at a festival but in fabric playing 5 hours plus from 6am sometimes through to midday or 1pm it's a whole different kettle of fish and magic really happens.

Nothing beats Ricardo at Fabric from early hours till lunch. I imagine the the only thing comparable would be the closing parties perhaps because the clubs closing at 8ish since 2008 don't give Ibiza a change to compete.

Still yet to catch Villalobos at fabric, though it's very much on the to-do list.

Does he really not jump on until 6am? If that's the case well worth the £10 late entry fee. I see he's there next Sat 29th Aug - could well be a potential SW4 afters for me.

That will be a messy affair! The thing I always think with Ricardo is you should go with zero expectation. Never assume that he will be on form. Although everyone is saying he is 100X more consistent and back on form this year, you just never know which Ricardo will turn up. On 29 Aug you can just imagine he will have been on it all day on Clapham Common at SW4 on it all day with his mates......so he could be a total mess by the next morning at 9AM in fabric!

I don't think I've heard as many excuses for any other musician in the world as I have for Ricardo. I'd rather people just be honest with themselves and admit that they think he's shite. If a band was as inconsistent as him they'd be bottled off stage.

Your not wrong WIC. Ricardo Villalobos, Craig Richards and Ben Klock.. you cannot go wrong with that one. I was looking at doing the SW4 afters (Prydz and Fanciulli) and then doing a very late entry to Fabric to close the evening

I'll be doing Bicep v Midland at XOYO, then pop in on Ricardo, and then be trying to dj at my mates carnival party...then dying!

Now that would be a right old party! Unfortunately I'll be at both days of SW4 this year (with a review on the main site shortly after!) so reckon I'll have to knock it on the head a lot earlier than that on the Saturday.

Yes , an after party should start straight after the party , it used to be like that, many cocoon after party were in cala llonga starting right after amnesia closed but since the ban of after hour party in 2008 it's more complicated.

cocoon still do lots of afterhours that directly start after amnesia. but when they go to some official venue like cova santa (planned for next week I think), then they simply can't open in the morning and have to respect the opening hours as per law. the rest of afterhours is in private villas so there they can start whenever they want.

that said, this year there haven't been that many cocoon afters yet. definitely not every week.
