Coxy is the funkier end of techno, I'd say. Proper fun-loving, party atmosphere - carnival-esque. Not too pretentious and leftfield that a casual clubber couldn't enjoy it. As opposed to the harsher Berlin sound which is ENTER. That's how i'd describe it to people who weren't into techno.

correct, when I read the article music on was not in the top 10. someone must have had a word with the editor of the piece I guess...
cocoon closing you mean? well, there will be more artists than what's announced so far, but that's all I can say for now I'm afraid.

I've heard the three of them on various occasions lately and not only at amnesia (alicante at tipic apart from amnesia, beyer at space apart from amnesia and sven..well, at afters of course apart from amnesia, but also at heart) and yes, all of them are in a splendid form right now.
I for one can't wait for cocoon closing - what a crazy 24hrs that will be!!!

Pretty damn good description i would say, it had been a few years since I'd been to a Carl Cox night at Space and i dont mean it in a pretentious way but it was a little more foolish than I'd expected, especially with the likes of Carl Craig, Digweed, Adam Beyer being there. Still enjoyed the night dont get me wrong but by no means is the atmosphere anywhere near a Cocoon night or Life & Death. It sort of was like a youngin version of Solomun +1 in a way to me or at least that's my take.

yeah + the crowd + the atmosphere.
even the music played @ the terrace, I went for allen flitzprick this july and I thought I was listening to a different person.
so yeah the overall music there is a bit different that the music I like

Am i wrong or Enter close his door earlier this season? Poor attendance? Haven't Been there this season.

They always planned to do 12 dates this season when they announced at the start. Not sure if there was a plan to extend or not.
I've no insider knowledge but I think we can all agree that ENTER was too long last season when they went on into first Thursday of October, so this season was right length.
I went to 3 of them last September and there were some very stale weeks towards the end. Was just too long. I think this season at 12 weeks has focused them more and the line-ups have been better. I only made it to 1 so far (Sven Night) and over all I thought all the rooms were working this year. Both Sake and Mind were pretty full all night, and were actually parties (even Mind).
Be interesting what others think (even though we are on a Coccon thread)

Just arrived home from my week in Ibiza.... I went to Cocoon on 7th and although it was still brilliant, a few of my friends found it too intense. Sven started lightly (we arrived around 02:30) boarding on the more housey side of late, and then went to some VERY dark and strange places. Personally I thought it was fantastic regardless of the unusual darkness/intenseness of his set, but I suppose that's what you get when he plays all night long.
One particular highlight was when he played a particularly fantastic song for a while, very slowly slowed the song right down and then slowly sped it up again. He literally blew my mind at that particular moment. I can't find the song ANYWHERE either which is torture as I can't get it out of my head.
Although different to the past five times I've seen him, yet another great party at cocoon with Sven pulling it out of the bag.

Thanks for the reply. What i don't get is why he didn'y start later in july and close the season a bit later as there are more real clubber at the end of september than beginning of july
Weak was probably a poor description - I'm just desperate for some Perlon representation! Moonear & Villalobos seem to be no goes so hopefully Zip is billed!
What ever happens it's sure to be a special one!

for some years now villalobos and väth don't "compete" at the closing, ricardo usually has the penultimate cocoon to himself (plus after) whereas väth plays the proper closing plus after. so for perlon-action always book the penultimate cocoon of the season.
Interesting! I never knew! Been out of the Ibiza loop for some time now!
Will see who else pops up on the line up and compare it to DC10 ... May just stay @ DC10 for the duration!
