Chinese herbal medicine

Has anyone ever had any or acupuncture?
Did it work or was it a load of balls?

I had acupuncture for my neck/back - biggest waste of time ever so I went back and they gave me some valium :D

Does your doctor do it?? My doctor in Ealing does it on NHS, I def wouldn't pay for it.

Re: herbal medicine. I've been taking Chinese green tea extract for the past few days. It's supposed to help you lose weight, though it'll be a month before I can tell you if it's really worked. My brother-in-laws swear by the stuff though, and have kept the weight off too.

procrastination is the thief of time!:p

My dad had this for his back, the doctor recommended it but to be honest I dont think it helped him. I think he has resorted to the fact he will always have a bad back.

I swear by it.....

I have accupuncture when my lateral epicondylitis flares up (that's tennis Elbow to the uninitiated.)

I have had painkillers, anti inflamatory pills, cortisone injections straight into the joint (this is the worst pain ever!!!) but after accupuncture - it goes away for months on end unless I do something stupid..... well worth the money.

I have been told this as well and Jasmine tea as apparantly it breaks down the fat after you have eaten and its why the chinese drink it after meals.

(only repeating what a friend told me who has a chinese uncle)

Tension in my shoulders.
Massage doesn't really help.

Have you been to the physiotherapist (can't remember the name but it's on S Ealing road just up from the Ealing Park Tavern) - I went to them for months for my neck/back cos they were funked and I found them very good.

No, I just found myself wandering into that Chinese herbal med place in Ealing asking about acupuncture.
I've eneded up with a bag full of tree and herbs to boil. :?

You need to see a proper physio then - I am dropping to bits Sandi and last October I had trapped nerves and muscle spasms in my neck and shoulder and had 15 weeks of physio before it sorted itself out. Ideally loads of rest and ice will help initially, but if its deep rooted and you use a computer/mouse/sit incorrectly etc etc - youre doomed..... and you need to make sure you take proper precautions......

I am luckily with BUPA through work so I will send myself off to the Accupuncturist/Physio at the moment I start getting a twinge...... not gonna suffer I dont have to....

I have private health, does that mean I can claim back on any acupuncture/physio?
