CHELSKI!

Yes, I was there! In the West Upper Stand. I was probably paying more attention to the Chelsea players celebrating on the pitch than to the bottlethrowers and the steward-Ronaldinho pushing and shoving, but I heard it all first hand from people who were in the middle of it later on.

Morbyd english is not my mother language so if you can't be a bit patient then we have a problem :?

I was asking if YOU were there near the mele, I knew you were in the match

Sorry, Sil... I live and work in a place where the language is foreign, so I totally understand what you mean! :)

No, I wasn't in the middle of the fight but I know a lot of people around Chelsea and heard what went on first-hand. I also saw replays of the fracas on TV (thus helping to visualize what I was told).

good week for football all round - best story, chelsea's win? no....

Hundreds of scousers watching the tuesday night Champions League games in Germany in an Irish pub the night before Liverpool played Leverkuesen....they're in the middle of a heartening rendition of "Rafa rafa rafa Benitez, Xabi Alonso, Garica and Nunez" (sung to the tune of La Bamba) and who walks into the pub to watch the game with them for 50 minutes......

...none other than the Liverpool manage Rafa Benitez! 8O absolute class....how many managers would do that before a big game - its already reached cult status in Liverpool folklore! ;) what a legend.

can't see Mourinho drinking with the chelsea fans down in Fulham somehow...
love the "Rafa-tollah" framed picture from the carling cup too....haha!

uh.. yes! :D

Liver did great though. I hope we meet in the quarters :D

By the way, Mourinho might not, but I've seen Abramovich spend time with fans before (though he doesn't drink).

thats cool!

only one place i want to meet chelsea and thats in the final...if either of them get that far.

would be so good for english football - its a shame when teams from the same country knock each other out.

That's true. From an English football perspective, it'd be better to meet in the final. It would certainly shut up all the naysayers like Eto'o and Ronaldinho who insult the English game (what? No Spanish teams left?) (oops, sorry, Silvia)

We'll take PSV then... or maybe Inter or Juve. Just not Milan or Lyon!

Its a fair one...although Garcia is the only Spaniard playing at the moment. Morientes is cup-tied for the champs league...and Lampard broke Alonso's ankle (which was nice  ).

Nunez and Josemi are a bit rubbish really.... :?

hey sil - are you going to be supporting Liverpool?

Luis Garcia had a great game on wednesday :) we miss Xabi though :(

To be honest, I'm not interested in the Champions since Barça is off, altho I would like to see Juventus beating Chelsea (Juventus would be a new Barça hero then) but I wish the best to Luís García and co :D

Silvia... that sounds like sour grapes to me.

FYI, I saw some stats today... Barca had something like 28 free kicks (and one penalty!) to 14 for Chelsea... so no basis to say Collina was biased.

Anyway, we'll have Robben back next week so Juve is no problem :D
