CHELSKI!

I think Sil's response is that of any Barcelona supporter, if the situation was reversed, and Chelsea's goalie had been held back when the final goal was scored, the Chelsea fans would be saying the exact same thing!

Swings and roundabouts tho isn't it, did Drogba deserve to get sent off in first game :? That's football for ya :D

Having said that, I was cheering on the Blues last night! ;)

I think Barca's keeper would have struggled to get there anyway. Having said that, I saw the game but not any comment after and only saw that incident once. Was the foul on the keeper a big talking point after? Was it being talked about as similar in influence to the Drogba sending off?

If so, and if it was similarly influential, I could see Sil's point. I'm all for reasoned discussion (well apart from when I'm sh1t-stirring, which I wasn't here) - it wasn't meant to upset folks.

Is it wrong to say that I find Ronaldo a bit of a turn on 8O

No it's not, he is so charming, smilie and lovely that most teenagers love him and consider him a sex symbol ;)

Congratulations to Chelsea. Amazing game.

Here's the best way I can put it. Chelsea are better at defending, Barcelona are better at attacking, and this time round it was the team that was better at defending that went through.

I'm not saying Chelsea are boring, like some people have said, but their strengths have clearly shown over the 2 legs to be counterattacking football (ie their 3 early goals last night were brilliant counterattacking goals).
Counterattacking by it's nature means you have to start of with a defensive attitude, which Barcelona simply can't do.

I'd say both teams deserved to get through, and it happened to be Chelsea that did yesterday.

A note to Mourinho.. take a lesson from Rijkaard on how to be dignified after losing a game. In the interview I saw, he didnt moan about the ref's bad decision. Cant begin to imagine what wouldve happened had it been the other way round.

Sorry Chelsea fans, I like you as a team, and would be happy for you to do well.. if it werent for Mourinho that is. I cant be fond of a team that has such an arrogant and moaning manager

shame your players don't act like that though !!!!

1. He's got a cheek to blame Collina, when they were clearly given an advantage in the first leg due to poor refereeing.
2. "If that team wins the Champions League it would be a joke for this sport. With so much football and so many players, what they do is not football."
Hang on, so it's not your pathetic players who throw themselves about the pitch for 90 minutes?
3. "A security guard told me that I was a monkey, but the disgraced one is him," stormed Eto'o."You only have to look at the face of the manager they have here."
Keep digging that hole.

Biggest set of bad losers on the planet.

And i'm a Leeds fan and we aren't particularly fond of Chelsea.

To be honest (and apologies in advance for generalising), I can't stand a lot of european teams, purely for the amount of play acting that goes on. It's something that is rarely in the British game (sneaks in occasionally - eg Joe Cole), but it's rife abroad and is nothing short of blatant and outright cheating.

Stu, months ago you were upset cos the silly monkey noises at Madrid and now you blame Eto'o for getting furious because a racial comment? :?

There's a big difference betweeen MOurinho and Eto'o, and it's that Eto'o always been polite and nice to everybody, while MOurinho's politeness it's quite particular

I was egging on barcelona (SORRY PEEPS)

And i thoguth they were the better team last night

Chelsea have spent millions on the squad and you know how the saying goes ** You can by fashion but you cant buy style**

The difference being that the incident with Eto'o is ALLEGED, the incidents at Madrid were broadcast on worldwide television.
Eto'o is annoyed about an alleged comment, but then replies with his own less-than-complimentary comment about Morinho.

Eto'o doesn't exactly come across as "polite and nice" in that interview, quite the opposite infact. As I said, seems like he's a bad loser.

True about the alleged thing, same with the alleged incident after first leg

Stu, I don't know if you follow the spanish football, but I think I'm objective if I say that it's not a common attitude in Eto'o. And I'm not saying the declarations were appropiates

Eto'o continued. "Collina denied me a clear penalty"

WHAT!?! how can it be a clear penalty when Ricardo Carvalho won the ball before Eto'o went down in the penalty area, which most of the Barca players seem to like doing quite a lot !

and it looks like Deco has been taking fashion tips from Nelly

Im a Tottenham supporter so I'm not particularly fond of Chelsea and the Chelsea supporters signing "Are you Tottenham in disguise" quite cheeky but .......... Chelsea deserved to go through

Viera, C Ronaldo, Pires, most of Bolton team, Baros... Just look at Soccer AM most saturdays. Lets not kid ourselves about diving in the Britain Stu.. ;) Agreed it was brought in by the foreign players.

About Etoo.. I honestly have to say the guy is the NICEST person in spanish football.. if youd said Marquez or Deco id say fair enough.. but if Etoo says such harsh words it's becuase they've definitely happened.. or at least thats what he interpretted.

*Note to myself * Lets not discuss football when visiting Stu in Scotland this weekend 8) ;)

quite the opposite - it'll be good to talk football !
Flav and Bruce aren't really football fans (rightly or wrongly, i've always thought that any bloke who isn't into football was deprived of something during their childhood, and probably bullied at school !!! :D )
This despite the fact that Flav's dad played for Hibernian for 10 years !

I think Etoo is one at the nicest players I ever seen, he was When he was playing with the Real Mallorca and he is when he is playing with one of the big teams!!! and I not only speacking of his actitude with press, he is nice in person. I dont think it can be taken in consideration a person who is unpolite in a certain situation, after loosing for example, what is disgusting is when people do this sort of things all the time and is part of their caracter. In the end we are all persons even the players and I think to judge someone you have to take in consideration his general actitude and not one concret actitude.
