It was at Highbury in August 87, he went to take a corner at which point some of the away fans (Liverpool) threw a number of bananas onto the pitch, in some kind of badly judged welcome to Liverpool gesture, I know a gooner who was there and remembers it well, also Nick Hornby also mentions it in "Fever Pitch"

And 'digger' barnes was an absolute legend for Liverpool so say his own fans would racistly abuse him is offensive

On more important issues, Sil.. how do you do that little squiggly thing under the "c"?![]()

I thought Barca learnt there lesson from last year very well. It was probably our most defensive home display of the season, and we realised that sometimes you cant simply use the all-out-attack idea.
What do the Chelsea fans make of Mourinhos tactics last night? I personally think he got it very wrong, or his players didnt listen to what he asked them to do. Lampard rarely got into our half. Where were his runs from midfield?? Why were Chelsea so scared to send men forward? even if we scored one, they still had to score two.
Why not risk it with Drogba and Crespo at the same time?? What did they have to lose??!
I think Chelsea went out rather tamely yesterday... having said that it was Ronnie that made the big difference again.8)

west ham websites have been talking about it and it turns out Barcelona have a following for the hammers. Anyone else know this?
