Cheap flights & hotels

I agree that it would be very difficult to fill a direct flight from the US to Ibiza. But how do they fill direct flights to Mallorca? From the US, both islands must look the same.

Update: not expecting to implement until the EU gets it new much delayed entry system (latest update October) and it will be up to each country if they want to let UK passports use it or not...

My passport never works on the e-gates anyway so this will make no difference!

Mine rarely works but I think it's user error - no matter how many times I go through them it doesn't work for multiple attempts, I think 'I must remember how to feed it in correctly', then the next thought I have about it is when I'm at the front of the queue the next time. 10 flights last summer and every single time I got to the gates and thought 'shit, which way is it again?' 😂.

This year I have a new shiny brexit(🤮) passport, which hopefully is a better likeness!

I'm still waiting for airports to introduce separate queue for people who have seemingly never been in an airport before...the ones who try and get through security with 101 different liquids, tins of beans in hand luggage etc etc

Yes, aren't they a pain? I've got packing my little plastic bag down to a fine art and can't see why others can't manage! One bugbear, the shops airside sell stuff in larger quantities than you can take through security, but they are rarely "travel" sizes such as toothpaste, shaving foam, bath splash etc. Admittedly some do like Boots in Manchester T1, but generally if you want something it's 250ml and half gets unused as it ain't coming back!

There is click and collect - has anyone done that and does it work? https://www.boots.com/shopping/airp...kjwKvUyLRdv8DOXoFy0GwugPB87n2ftu6hWAJrg2p_jTZ

The large sizes irk me too. My friend did the click and collect for Boots Mcr T2 in March and it worked fine. Not sure how long she ordered in advance.

Done it, booked a week for late September! Flight with easyjet (small bag) £230 ret - will be out on a Saturday early afternoon so I expect it will be a bit noisy (!) but I'm sat at the back so should be out of the way. Comes back late Saturday PM so gives me plenty of time to get to the airport from Formentera.

Hotel is one of my faves, Roca Plana near Es Pujols and I've bagged a room (B+B) with balcony for £617 for 7 nights. Think the price must have come down as I'm sure I looked at that a fortnight ago and discounted it.

Ton-fifty change from my budget which will cover the ferry and any taxi fares if the bus isn't handy. Phew, great to have it to look forward to!!

It’s so embarrassing and makes life harder for decent British people living & working in Ibiza who get tarred by that brush.

Even the Glasgow Ryanair route was dropped this year.
I've finally got to the point where I think airports and airplanes should be dry - and no duty-free either. Maybe a compromise where neither can sell alcohol until, say, 4pm, but the tanked-up louts have to be stopped somehow. They really shouldn't be allowed on the plane, they ruin it for everyone.

However the flights from Gatwick (especially BA), London City & Heathrow are usually fine - even when late at night.

Sadly some people think they can behave like animals which is crazy when you consider they’re in a small, enclosed cabin 10s thousands feet above ground.

BA from City definitely! I would pay an extra 200€ to avoid the grief

O'Leary was calling for a booze ban but I dunno if that would be enough given so much aggro is drug-driven now. Ultimately, the cops and courts need to come down hard. Minimum 10 year jail terms before parole.

I read that Korean Air sanctioned stun gun tasers on their flights following an air rage incident involving Richard Marx (flight hero, not er hazard)

But he sells booze himself on his airplanes

Why punish everyone for actions of a tiny minority? Not every passenger flies from the UK to Ibiza, and by far not every passenger flying to Ibiza gets drunk. I never do, because I always have a rental car to drive.

Besides, if you ban alcohol at airports, the same crowd will just drink before entering the airport, just like they do before entering a club. You need to ban drunks, not drinks!

One day I will fly with Ryanair from the UK to Ibiza just to experience the unique party atmosphere onboard - Ibiza flights from Germany are boring 🤣
