There are ways and means of catching people at airports. It isn't hard... the police have used similar surveillance at football for years
It’s so embarrassing and makes life harder for decent British people living & working in Ibiza who get tarred by that brush.
Even the Glasgow Ryanair route was dropped this year.
Yeah I think you’re right about the social media hype. People see these videos and take influence from it. It normalises the behaviour of acting like an obnoxious c*nt.The only time I have had a 'calm' flight to Ibiza was a Ryanair from Birmingham for Circo Loco closing in 2014 - since it was basically the last outbound flight that year from there, there was just four of us on the flight (Darius Syrossian being one!). Literally every other flight has been rowdy but I definitely think it's got worse in the last few years with people almost wanting to living up to the videos they have seen on social media of these being 'party flights'. Particularly bad one was a Friday evening flight from Gatwick which was delayed by a couple of hours (so more time for people to drink). There were three separate hen groups and a stag. Hens from different groups started fighting in the aisle and one girl fell and her knocked her tooth out on a seat! It sounds so comical looking back but it really is horrible being surrounded by that and fearing that they will do an emergency landing in France and causing more delays. Last time I flew from Gatwick it was at around 7am on a Thursday and I wrongly assumed it would be calm but no! People clearly stay up all night drinking. I swore I would never fly on a 'budget' airline from the UK to Ibiza (don't care about way home as people are subdued to say the least after their holiday lol) after that flight when the guy behind me threatened the air hostesses after she told him for a second time to put on his seatbelt for landing. Just such a horrible atmosphere and not the way I want to start my holiday. Really wish the airlines would take a tougher stance on these idiots.
Thing is, the cabin crew let them on in the first place. At the gate they check your passport and ticket, and won't let you through if it's wrong, so why not stop the clearly drunk onboard? After all it's a safety issue, you are in a small tube at 35,000' and if someone tries to open the door, smash a window etc the cabin crew are hardly equipped to stop them.Yeah I think you’re right about the social media hype. People see these videos and take influence from it. It normalises the behaviour of acting like an obnoxious c*nt.
It’s the cabin crew I feel for. They shouldn’t have to put up with these idiots day in day out.
The cheapest and fastest way for me to get to Ibiza is a direct, late evening flight from my local airport to Gatwick, and then taking the first flight the next morning to Ibiza.Last time I flew from Gatwick it was at around 7am on a Thursday and I wrongly assumed it would be calm but no! People clearly stay up all night drinking.
The member of staff didn’t hit him hard enough.
England away most times there would be couple of coppers at the gate checking passports and questioning people. There are ways and means of catching people at airports. It isn't hard... the police have used similar surveillance at football for years
Wonder if people are a bit worried about the, ahem, "atmosphere" on the plane? I certainly would think twice, but unfortunately my only trip outbound this year (so far) is on a Saturday. Afternoon. With easyjet. At least it's late September so we might be spared!!Flash British Airways Sale - E.g. Gatwick to IBZ from one-ways £50 (all tax) on Sat 14 June - day flight!
Saturdays in June seem very cheap!
Of course it could simply be that BA have seats to sell that they didn't expect!! Party time everyone, fill your boots!!
And up north we're screaming out for them - at least at a decent time of day!I think a little too much capacity early in June maybe?
On Sat 14 June BA have 8 London flights (3 City, 3 Gatwick, 2 Heathrow)
It's the risk you take!Seems to be some cheap flights with Jet2 at present, specifically Bristol, as checked what the flights we booked back in January were at present. Could have saved nearly half the price![]()
