Cheap flights & hotels

Booked week end may 2025
Cheer myself up ( snow )
Prices just getting ridiculous 😒
I always stay playa bella ( just somewhere to sleep & cheap)
All hotels around that area per couple is 2/3k for a week with flights & July/ Aug is crazy money.....
I love the island 🏝
But dieing a slow death... unless your loaded ffs

It's possible that prices for flights and holidays have gone up now so that the airlines and tour operators can say 'wow 50% off January sale!' In a couple of weeks time and not get in bother for false advertising.

It always amuses me on Xmas Day night when the TV ads immediately shift to Holidays, Weight Watchers, and the DFS sale it's like clockwork :)

Found some fairly cheap flights with Tui for a week end of June from Birmingham. Very tempting but not sure if to wait until after NY

Why are the flights from Barcelona to Ibiza so expensive? It's only an hour on a popular domestic route with reasonably good weather.
The cheapest BCN-IBZ tickets with one price of luggage are in comparison 40 % more expensive than the equivalent one hour domestic flights in otherwise expensive Norway.

In addition, the cheapest flight I could find for BCN-IBZ are 50 % more expensive than the cheapest flights from Oslo to Barcelona (3 hour 20 minute flight). Yes, it's cheaper to fly to Barcelona than take a one hour domestic flight in Norway.

All comparisons are for the same period in 4 months time.

Then there are the ferry prices from the mainland to Ibiza. They are 2-4 times more expensive than equivalent ferry ride in Greece.

Is there a lack of competition, or is there som other explaination?

Actually thinking of booking a package holiday as flights are so expensive. I should have booked before Xmas  can still stay in San An but just not at Ibiza Rocks. Not necessarily a problem as can choose which day to buy tickets for etc

My April trip was £789 through on the beach for 4 nights all inclusive at hotel palmyra in the bay again, prices for flights were just exactly same through them, and quite similar to same time last year

Not many decent options from here at the moment. Belfast prices more insane than usual. £500 pp in some instances. Ryanair out of Dublin horrendous on many dates. A handful of potential departure days to keep an eye on if they drop after any early January booking spikes, especially following the recent cold snap. But no sign of movement so far.

Our usual hotel for the past 10 years is 2.5 times more expensive compared to last year, so that's the end of that for start.

I had three realistic options:
- Norwegian from Oslo to Barcelona, then put myself at the mercy of local airlines.
- Norwegian to Gatwick or somewhere else in the UK, and then take Easyjet to Ibiza.
- Lufthansa/Discover from Oslo to Munich, and then on to Ibiza.

By far the cheapest turned out to be traveling with the Germans. The tickets with luggage came at 340 euros.

After booking tickets I found out that I could get charter trips for my dates from Oslo to Ibiza. I would be on the EXACT same Lufthansa/Discover flights, would be staying at decent enough hotels in Ibiza, but pay 2-300 euros more for the entire holiday. This means a charter holiday, for my dates, costs about 15 % more than booking flights and hotels separately. It's well worth checking out for people booking late.

Ah, didn't check on the beach actually but got a good deal with easyjet in the end. Is that subject to the all inclusive rules there?

How come everyone is panicking about flights? It's changed a little since covid and all that, but many flight schedules used to only be released around January, then flights skyrocketed around blue monday(next week) and then hit a lull before going up again.

As far as I can see there are plenty of cheap flights on the days i'd usually go on for the first weekend of August, very good flight times under £100 out on a Friday for example, not bad for the old 'busiest week of the year', can get out for £40 on the most expensive day to flight out if you're not picky..

For those of us with kids we tend to need a bit more advance planning round school holidays etc. But your post did prompt me to look and our flights - booked months ago - have gone down after soaring. Hard to know exactly when to book - I just assume it will even out over the years 🤞
