#Brexit

As someone who wanted neither JC nor BJ in, i am fairly ambivalent about the result. People like me are electorally invisible.

Anyone optimistically hoping the brexit wars are over... We ain't seen nothing yet. The heavy shit hasn't even STARTED. This will drag on for YEARS

And who knows, the UK itself may soon cease to exist..

Time to batten down the hatches..

For me its all about immigration, i want an australian points system to keep out the freeloaders who contribute nothing to the UK
Does my head in when folk say "lets be like Australia". Load of tosh. I know folk who have done well for themselves there and are nearly on the bread line, cost of living is obscene

If we need to get rid of people from Britain then I say we chuck out the Tory voters in the North East who sold their souls and family history to the Tories

In. We're controlled by Nazis both south and north of the border, political parties that want to bring in more and more laws, more and more state powers. Being in the EU probably holds them back a bit if not enough.

Precisely this. Fascists in their own guise both sides of the border. Sickens me as well that we continue to pay towards the Royal Family,

I was never a supporter of Independence but seriously considering switching now if it gets us shot of the Tories and the Royal Family

I’m no natural Tory but watching arrogant Labour MPs who, for 3.5 years have derided, ignored, patronised and demonised those leave voting working class people who they profess to support, get their just deserts was pretty satisfying.

as for the future of the party, I can only hope they abandon this Corbyn project altogether and become a party of serious aspirations of power. Unfortunately I am not convinced... very powerful editorial on this issue in the Guardian absolutely hits the nail on the head for me about the futility of ‘Corbynism’ - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....sfree/2019/dec/13/corbynism-labour-left-party

Love it how lefties call people they disagree with Nazis and fascists.
suck it up baby, with a majority like that you’re looking at two terms.
God Save The Queen
And that was technically the "2nd ref" they lost which they've been crying out for

Muppets

I was very against Scottish independence last time, but now for it. I would have preferred Scotland to be in the UK with the UK in the EU, but an independent Scotland in the EU is better than Scotland outside the EU and chained to a Tory England. Looks like it will be a real fight to get the referendum we're owed (remember how before the last Scottish indie vote, we were told the best way to stay in the EU was to remain in the UK?), so need to get off my arse and go to any demos/marches.

Over 2 million Scots voted no in the independence referendum, more than the 1.66m who voted to remain in the EU. Just because the anti English brigade shout the loudest, doesn’t mean they’re in the majority.
The SNP should focus on issues that actually matter, falling life expectancies, highest drug death rates in the EU, education etc, instead of the constant anti Westminster/England tripe.

Not forgetting hospitals they promised to build yet have so far failed to do.

Still waiting for answers to my question few posts earlier off the Independance brigade

No guarantee Scotland would get in the EU. Spain would very likely be opposed as it would further raise tensions in the Catalan region of Spain.

Anyway the UK will just bring Trident down south was well as any other major resources. The rest of us in the UK are getting fed up with Scotland moaning constantly. If you left the UK you won’t have the money you currently have now which is generated from the South of the country
