BPM festival expanding (brazil & portugal)

Yes they had tickets for single Events. If I remember correctly they where priced between 25-65EUR depending on the DJs playing.
The main night Events, took place at centro de congresso which had 3 Areas (40-65 EUR).
Entry on the door was available for all of the Events. (At least when I entered the Events)
You definetly save money with the festival ticket if you want to visit one day + one night Event on each day.
Two of the beach Locations have a spot where you easily can enjoy the Music from the outside, if you want to save some bucks.

In Addition to the tickets you can expect another 30eur or so (can't really remember), for the shuttle bus that is connecting the Locations.
Do you know the prices for the tokens from last year and how many tokens it was for drinks etc my first year going to bpm just want to know how much spends to bring wouldnbe much aprictaed thank you!

Sorry for the late reply. Must have missed the notification. :-(
Drinks were cheap compared to IBIZA but expensive compared to the usual Portugal prices. I'm 100% sure about that.
Not to sure about the actual pricess for drinks. If I remember correctly, something like 7 EUR for a beer and 10EUR for a Gin-Tonic.
Tokens can easily bought at the event locations with VISA. Never had to wait for long. I allways bought in 50EUR batches.

Im here now, and its my first year. We have had the best time. I shall do a full review once im home and fully recovered! In short i have been thoroughly impressed with everything about the festival. Stay tuned. Think the buzz and atmosphere is what has been lacking in Ibiza of late. Plus cheaper drinks, the ability to go back and forth, the organisation, the lack of vip, the international all age crowd. No complaints from me at all. I will be back next year for sure.

I‘ll be curious too. maybe it‘s just me but to me it felt as there wasn‘t the same pre-buzz about it as last year
Definitely looks a bit odd this year for some reason..I was there last year with the family and did enjoy it,didn't go to any of the big party but a few bar had some cool things on early evening that would be to my liking.. I did notice this year from instagram that all the djs look very alike...

that's great to hear and by no means I wanted to bring up the old ibiza vs. any other destination discussion. I simply voiced a genuine impression I had. and am of course glad you're having a fantastic time - enjoy!!!!

Nice. I thought the lineup was lacking some of the bigger names and why some hype was lacking.

I try to compare against Mexico where there were a bunch a different venues and the beach/jungle parties would go on until 8am. Seems like there are only a few venues and the outdoor parties stop at midnight. Still looks good though from what I’ve seen.

I’m just on the way home now and we all had a great time. Impressive venues , mixed crowd all in a good location with resonable prices. I certainly agree it had the atmosphere that Ibiza was lacking this year when I went.

Heard some fantastic music standouts been Carola on the Friday,Appolonia and Richie Hawtin at Blanco beach and Craig Richards and Troxler this morning

Only down side I can think of is the taxi strike which made it a pain getting to the venues not in Walking distance.Would highly recommend and considering returning next year.

BPM Portugal full review.

Well what can i say, i loved it!

The BPM app: great app that provides maps, lineups, running times, you name it, it was on the app. Great little tool to help plan your night.

Accommodation: stayed at the Algarve Casino Hotel right on Praia da Rocha beach only a few metres from the 2 daytime venues. Lovely 5* hotel, not overly expensive. With the balcony doors open you could hear the music perfectly from Blanco Beach, but with them shut, silence, perfect for a disco nap!

Travelling around: as previously mentioned some of the local taxi drivers were on strike but their reason for the strike was down to the usual taxi drivers dislike of Uber and they were working and never had an issue getting around. There were also a fleet of independent VW camper owners offering lifts. When leaving the late night venues there was always a line of regular taxis waiting to be filled. I understand that BPM were running shuttles although didnt require them so couldnt comment on them. Taxi, Uber and camper costs were very reasonable, half or a 3rd of Ibiza.

Drink prices: drinks were bought via tokens which i have always been a big fan of. Prices were set by BPM and tokens were usable wherever you went over the 4 days. Prices were around half the cost of Ibiza. And no tiny bottles of water! Never waited anymore than a couple of minutes at any bar the whole time.

Wristband v's individual tickets: we had a wristband which enables entry, exit and re-entry to all the venues over the 4 days and cost wise was well worth it. Done a quick bit of maths and worked out that over the 4 days/night if split it we would have paid less than €20 per party if that. Whereas most individual tickets were around €50-€65 with no re-entry.

Queues and security: searches on entry were mostly carried out by the police or local guard. Thorough but quick as they were only really after weapons and dealers so the usually hiding places were safe. Lots of police, security and ambulances around outside so felt very safe and looked after. No real presence on the inside of venues so never felt like you were being watched but knew if there was trouble they werent far away.

The people: well what can i say, we were all there for the same reason, good quality underground house and techno so everyone was already a friend. No one appeared to be there by accident or there for their insta or facebook. Very international, as a Brit i felt i was a minority and i loved that. Didnt see any unfriendly incidents the whole time.

Venues: 2 daytime running from midday to midnight, Blanco beach and No Solo Agua. Both spacious and right on the beach. Preferred No Solo Agua as there were loads and i mean loads of places to sit and chill. Then there was a venue called Villa Mariazinha only a few minutes walk up the road that opened around 9/10pm which was small with an outside terrace and an indoor room. And another close by called Kathedral Disco, although didnt make it to this venue. Then there is the icing on the cake, the huge multi use function building used as the main overnight venue. 2 large main rooms interconnected with hundreds of loos, bars, food area, seating areas called Centro de Congressos do Arade. This venue is situated across the river around 5km away so transport was required but like i mentioned we never struggled with this.

The parties:
Day1, Started at Stereo Productions party at No Solo Agua, then onto Paradise at Blanco Beach, then the Villa in town then the main venue for Mindshake and BPM presents Marco Carola and more. All of the parties were superb. As it was the first day/night we thought we would get ourselves about to see as much as possible. Although we could have stayed at any of the parties till finish!

Day2, All Day i Dream at No Solo Agua which was the party i was most looking for and it did not disappoint. Superb setting for a superb party. Stayed here most of the day till finish, just couldnt pull ourselves away.

Day3: Started at Neopop with Nastia at No Solo Agua then moved to Yaah Muul at Blanco Beach for Nick Fancuili. Then onto the main indoor venue for Yaah Muul and Kaluki for the rest of the night.

Day 4: my birthday. The plan was to go to Blanco Beach for Richie Hawtin but the queue was massive so thought we would see what Vatos Locos at No Solo Agua was like before going back once the queue had died down but we had such a good time there we stayed!

Summary: good mix of headliners and unknowns. As usual as we all know the unknowns can be better than the headliners! Great mix of daytime beach parties and warehouse type night parties. And in the middle parties. I can see this festival getting bigger and bigger as the years go by. The locals and the hotels love it, as it provides a few days of extra income in the quiet season. The locals were evidently abit anxious before last years but were looking forward to this years as there werent any of the problems they were expecting. Infact they seem to find the whole thing fascinating. As the daytime beach parties finished at midnight everybody was gone within about 20 minutes, either to another venue or bed. No drunk dick heads etc causing a nuisance or a mess. I will be back next year without a doubt. Hopefully i will see a few spotlighters there in the future.

Only 4 weeks to ADE, hope my blisters have gone by then!

Saw that they are also focusing on beach parties during the night instead of the indoor venue they have been using. Something to watch, could be interesting...

how much does the accommodation costs & from where i can check them out?

Anyone going this year? Be interested to hear how it goes down at the beach with no inland night venues being used.

Zamna Tulum have also now put a post up saying "The countdown is on" with a picture of Dixon at Solomuns +1 last year! I have a feel the authorities have just granted there licence and given the go ahead for Tulum and BPM!
