Berlin - thoughts?

Well they didnt let me in on my first visit to Berlin in April...so looks like ill never get to go 😪
Sad to hear, what will the future look like for nightlife/club culture...

In whole Germany the running costs for Clubs and Restaurants are very high. Tax , Gema , Security and so on. Too much

Not the Last one. Saaad

Bummer :/ My favourite club in Berlin! Spent many nights over the years, with Väth all night long sets. Usually he played 6-8 hours in the mainroom with the LED Wall, and in the morning the party moved downstairs to the "waterfloor", where Sven continued for hours in broad daylight next to the river. The memories... They are saying on insta that all their favourite DJs will get to play there one last time before NYE, so fly in for Svens night!

Got turned away from Watergate in 2017 so never been, I think it was as simple as speaking back to the bouncers when asked a question, walked round the corner to Berghain and got in no problem (2nd time in a row out of 2 visits). Was always told watergate was one of the easier ones to get in so funny how it worked out that night.

Sad news and loved Watergate's Waterfloor. Matthias Meyer & Budakid B2B there in 2022 was sublime.

Looks like soon there will be very few clubs left in Berlin. Just expensive apartments and office blocks.

I was told by the lad who worked at the backpackers hostel (Jetpak alternative, Kreuzberg, now closed) I stayed at in 2017 that there are over 200 club licences in Berlin, even if that number has fell off a bit since then it’s still a significant number.

If no one hasn’t already then I urge anyone to go over there for May 1st. Was such a brilliant day and night.
