I have been reading alot of these forums in anticipation of my August 2004 visit to Ibiza and I see alot of references to "beer boys". So my question would be, who would be considered "beer boys?"

its a term used generally by british clubbers to describe lager lout types.
so on here it means the type of british tourist that will frequent the bars of the west end of san antonio, drinking as much as they can, fighting each other, singing football chants and trying to mate with "beer girls."
they can be spotted by their suprisingly smart clothing whilst out on the piss; usually a ben sherman shirt, smart jeans/trousers and shoes, usually rockport boots. this is topped of by sovereign rings and/or large gold chains.

Heh...yeah...i hate to make a sweeping generalization here but...u generally will only find them beer boys in San An. Predominantly in the West End and in clubs like Eden. We NEVER encountered any beer boys in Pacha, El Divino, or Amnesia...i may be wrong. Funny thing, we stayed at the Hostal Florencio in San An, and we would run into a group of guys EVERY DAY (cool guys) and we'd be like telling them our plans for the night...u know...like goin into Eivissa town goin to Pacha or some other club...and their plans would ONLY to either go to the West End or drink at the bar in our hotel...hahahhaha....it was weird...i mean thems brits have SUCH a luxury that i dont think they understand what they missin out on by just sittin in the hotel. Like we're from Canada, we have to pay a shiat load of $$$ to get over there, opposed to the CHEAP ass deals they get...so when we get over there...we DONT take ibiza for granted man. I just don't understand why u would come to a BEAUTIFUL balearic island to spend ur entire holiday just drinkin at the hotel bar?? Not even go to the beach?? I mean, why would'nt u just save ur money and drink at home ya dig? Ah whatev...i guess thats how they have fun.

why do they do that??? Dont they realize that they're lucky SOB's? They live soo close to ibiza...Getting there ISNT a problem. On the other hand u have us die hards over here on THIS side of the atlantic, we have to save up soo much money just to make it there. Some of us will be lucky to touch down on the white isle MORE than once. Unless u rich like pdiddy and have a private jet to fly u back and forth every season, the one time ibiza visit is what MOST north americans get.

I would just like to butt in here if I can...
I totally agree that the group of 'lager lads' and 'beer birds' that make the West End their own every night are predominantly British but that isn't to say that all us Brits are the same!
Whenever I am over on the island I love the way that in Ibiza Town, Playa D'en Bossa and down at the sunset strip Brits, Germans, Canadians, Italians, Spanish, locals and whoever else can mix in complete harmony!
Not all the British want to drink in the hotel bar all day and fall asleep in a pool of their own sick at 11pm!
Without the British a lot of the stuff that everyone enjoys so much on Ibiza wouldn't be there, I am in no way condoning these low lifes but please stop and think that there are a HELL OF A LOT of Brits that go to Ibiza for the same reason as the rest of you do.
