a little skint after recent adventures. so much music pending in the cart!
my mind was totally blown by Ata Kak live on Saturday night in France. A seriously unique singer from Ghana who was tracked down from obscurity a while back after a lengthy search by an obsessed nerd! Afrobeat? Afro-house? Who knows but he was great fun.
standouts: 'Obaa Sima' and 'Daa Nyinaa'

before that Weatherall played a little chillout thing as well - an absolutely stunning version of fatima yamaha 'what's a girl to do' - but no idea what it was - a bit on the ambient / beatless side maybe? - should be sick of it now but one of those tunes I never tire of.
