Attitude In Pacha

im with gaz. just the kinda londonblokey that does it for me, as long as hes got SOUL as well as a highflyin' kick your backside attitude and wit.

its the beauty of london, you either love it or loath it.

personally..........i do both (deffo mostly the former), but for me, there is nought in the world, like a proper london geezer. they just do it for me . rude but gentlemen, dapper but rough, clued but the norm, sexy but hot ;) . No place in the world, create the same kinda man. Just my humble opinion ;).

cant you lot see the guy was being slightly(understatement of the year) sarcastic, and stereotyping it just a ted (whoops sorry...) tad. didnt know you british were so thinskinned 8O . Must be the northern touchiness ;) .

Basically the owners of pacha london pay the original pacha company money to use the pacha name.

Drew - But bed is a filthy sh1tehole. Great music, crowd, and that but the club is filth.

meaning?.....is it any good?

It was a lot better when it first opened, Jo Mills was resident and Def Mix, Subliminal etc had residencies there.

Then for god knows what reason School Disco  took over the Friday night slot, I think that's now changed to some Urban Garage night  .

Saturdays are still good, one wk it is Hed Kandi, another Kinki Malinki, another Dusted and the other Cherry Velvet (Renaissance), the nights are good but they're not particularly doing anything to excite me.

Saying that I've spent the last 2 NYE at Pacha London and had a blinder.

It's definitely worth a visit cos it is lovely club and if you get right DJjs there it can be blinding.

are you refering to MOS and pacha - the london verisons? cause if you are, i totally and utterly disagree with you.

but thats cool ;)

its all about the vibe 'you' love, and for me fabric is the place. especially on Tyrant nights...

I agree it is in need of a refurb.

But as you say the music and crowd are second to none.

The best DJ line-ups in the land also ;)

what about that "home" place, oakenford managed in 2000? does it still exist and is it any good?

It wasn't managed by Oakie, Darren Hughes owned it, Oakie was resident on Saturdays and originally Danny Rampling was on Fridays and then Steve Lawler. It was always destined to fail, before it even opened to the public Dane 'I'm a tw@t' Bowers got in a ruck there at some private party with some garage boys if I remember correctly, therefore they lost their 6am licence and had to close at 3am. They were competing against the likes of Ministry which shut at 9am then, Turnmills 7am etc. Also the location of the club was absolutely terrible, right bang in middle of Leicester Square so the place was just attracting tourists who didn't have a clue about the music and were just going cos it was there. I went there and even Oakie wasn't on form but I think that was mainly due to the crowd, I have never experienced such a lack of atmosphere in a club.

It's a shame really cos it was a lovely club and had a gorgeous restaurant on the top floor. However after they lost their 6am license Westminster Council were gunning for them, hence closing them down for drugs  It was quite amusing at the time cos it was reported in the press that the bouncers were giving away free drugs, I was like 'Damn missed that one :P '

The building is still there but it's completely derelict, there was rumours a couple of years ago of Cream taking it over or Gatecrasher but never amounted to anything.

Babs you are just a wealth of knowledge!

It was a great venue but I agree, I have never been somewhere so lacking in atmosphere. I walked past it the other day and there were workmen inside, so something must be happening with it.
