 I'm feeling most girlie-fied this week

I am planning on having a make-up lesson/makeover type thingy, has anyone had one?? Any particular brand that you would recommend going to??

MAC and Pout are my fave brands so I was thinking of one of those 2, has anyone had any experience of those?? Or are there better ones to try??

I am liking these girlie threads, they are getting me through what would normally be a boring week

I wouldnt mind going into a department store and them recommending some products to me as although I think I do my make up ok and it looks pretty nice, I just wonder if I am missing out on stuff in the make up world.

I had a Benefit one last year and got some handy tips and some products that were great. But the actual makeover was a bit rubbish - I ended up looking like a drag queen and had to walk round Debenhams after 8O

NO!!!!!!! But I keep saying I would love to have one.

I saw a place that looked really good, but I can't remember where it was or the name. But it looked amazing. I think it was near High Holborn and it could have been Mac. There is also a place behind Oxford Street that looks good.

I would go to these if I was you if you already know the products suit you

Helloooo

I'm bored at home so this has cheered me up!!

I was going to get one done the other day at Notts by MAC but they are always too busy!

I've had one done by Elizabeth Arden (Drag Queen), MAC, Benefit and YSL. Best was YSL - woman knew what she was talking about!

I don't know what your MAC people are like in London but they are bloody awful here - I nearly wrote a letter of complaint last time! They look at you like your a shoplifter!!! And I even heard one of them say to the other 'watch her' GRRRR  It then took them ages to serve me so I basically just threw my card at her and slunk off!!!

I'm having one of these next time I'm having my hair done as Pep's very belated birthday present :D
In my case I'm having it at my hairdressser. I totally trust on him and he said the girl that does lessons there is the best, so here I go.
But if I had to choose a brand I would definitly go for MAC

:D

Ooo, a girly thread....:D

I had one of those department store make-up thingys about 3 months ago for a bit of a laugh.....:? ....indeed it was that.....I ended up coming out looking like Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummage!8O

Bloody "make-up artist" my bum....AND she was from Chanel....I was not happy!

I think you have to be bossy and tell them what you like etc. or otherwise they just do their own thing!:?

I could do with some lessons though....I only learnt how to put eyeliner on about a month ago!!!   Well, things that sharp and pointy are NOT supposed to be near your eye I tell you!!!

Im not much help am I?!

Does anyone here use the YSL eye concealer, its always raved about? I am tempted to go into Boots or somewhere and ask them to tell me what colour to get and how to use it but they always scare me slightly

That's what I am scared of looking like a drag queen 8O I am quite happy with my make-up but I want to know if I'm doing anything wrong/should be doing anything different and for them to give me ideas for a beach bride type look.

Its good Emma - I have the lightest one but then I am pale - much cheaper to get on the internet than in store though!!!:D

They used purple and it was really OTT and then they did the lips really OTT as well so it was bad. And I had gone in with no make up on thinking I was going to be transformed and it was bad.

Maybe just get some tips, dont let them actually do much to you

Apologies for straying onto girly territory, but I was gonna ask about this makeover stuff. Is this when you see deep orange heavily-made up oompah lumpahs trowelling paint onto young girls faces in John Lewis et al? Kind of like they're trying to make mini-mes (mini-thems natch not mini-buckers you understand)?

Do you mean that Touché e cat / clat wtf is it called?!
yes....its ok....but there are cheaper versions out there that are just as good:D

I like the Virgin Vie one.....is that an old ladies brand because its really popular here in Spain:roll:

The best makeup for your wedding would just be prima or highlighter all over the face. Benefit do the best one or Virgin Vie. Be as natural as possible.

Makeup only looks good at night time or dressing up

Yes thats them. They look very scary to me and never offer products to me as if I am not good enough to buy their stuff
