really nice - even with changing led-colours at night.
wonder how many people will take a shower there in summer

yes, bright spotlights, interview room, bad interviewer, good interviewer. one question they asked was

would you prefer to shop in a a big commercial centre, easy to get to, with loads of parking and run by a very efficient french retailer selling quality brands at reasonable prices and with good sales and after sales service, as opposed to driving round for 30 minutes looking for a parking spot to go to a shop that probably won't have what you want and costs 30% more than anywhere else and has no idea what customer service means.

they forced a yes out of me on the 8th attempt.

The GEN warning that the draft Matutes deteriorate further aquifer Sant Jordi
Environmentalists point out that every project should justify the adequacy of water resources for the necessary administrative authorization
The Grup d'Studies of Nature (GEN-GOB), said yesterday in a statement that the project
promoted by the group of companies Matutes in Playa d'en Bossa deteriorate "even" the aquifer
Sant Jordi, as it has no with potable water to carry it out.
"Ground water supplied to the population of the area already has a totally unacceptable
salinity levels that far exceed the limits allowed by law
to be considered potable.
Under these conditions, any new or increased water intake flow catchment existing wells
will accelerate the pace of salinization area of Sant Jordi, Platja d'en Bossa, sa Carroca
and other neighborhoods in the area
, "..

The GEN explains that this project provides precisely the actions
that should be avoided "at all costs" in an already overcrowded island

and for which all experts were unanimous call to replace the term 'banking' by 'remodeling'.

This subject will be discussed in the Parliament on Tuesday

Playa d"en Bossa
Representatives of PIMEEF (the association of small and medium sized businesses) called a meeting with the Matutes Group last week to clarify the affects that its planned macro-project will have on their businesses in the future. The Vice President of the Association, Alfonso Rojo, said that they were not intending to touch on legal, land planning or other similar matters, as these questions were not within their jurisdiction. Director of the Matutes Group, Abel Matutes jnr, explained that the project would consist of a golf course, a complex ideal for families, an estate of luxury villas and a shopping mall, which would be constructed near the existing Ushuaïa Hotel and Space discotheque. He added that planning permission had not yet been given, as a few changes would need to be made to the bylaws if the project is to go ahead.
After the meeting, representatives from PIMEEF expressed their complete disagreement with the plan laid on the table, saying that such a project would be detrimental and disproportionate to the infrastructure of the Island. A 50,000 square metre shopping mall would tend to attract customers from all over the Island and have dire affects on existing businesses. One of the delegates said "Ibiza is sufficiently attractive on its own merits without having to locate such a large shopping centre as is being proposed in the plan". He continued by claiming that the touristic appeal of such a venture would be minimal, as visitors do not normally include a shopping spree as a priority when on holiday on the island. However one point both parties did agree on was the necessity to strive to increase the number of flights in low season, which continues to be a bug bear for all sectors. They also thanked the Matutes Group for giving them an opportunity to understand exactly what would be involved and for being so magnanimous in sharing the information.

Playa d"en Bossa
The Grup d"Estudis de la Naturalesa (Nature Study Group) expressed its concern over the large project which is being contemplated by the Matutes Group, saying, "The Excellency Plan for the area will only be excellent for the pockets of the developers who seem to want to destroy the image of the Island". They claim that, if the macro project does go ahead, it will only increase the water problems in the village of Sant Jordi and surrounding areas which are already stretched to the limit. The organization pointed out that the water in the aquifers already has more salt than is considered apt for human consumption and accused the Matutes Group of causing the problem by over exploiting Playa d"en Bossa. "The first thing a developer needs to ascertain is where they intend to get the water from which would be needed to supply such a vast project", adding that until adequate water can be supplied planning permission should not be given. As far as the golf course is concerned, they believe that the use of the pesticides which would be necessary to keep the greens in optimum condition would be detrimental to the nearby las Salines Natural Park, which is protected land.

matutes in 2007:

"...
The businessman Abel Matutes, head of the Matutes Group who are building the golf course
in Playa den Bossa, hit back at claims that his company is making any benefits
from the road building taking place.

There had been criticism from some sides that the group was going to take advantage
of the vast amount of earth that had been dug up to make the roads
.

Matutes denied this, and claimed that far from benefiting, the company in charge of the road building
had in fact been using their land for storage purposes,
which would equate to around 1.8 million euros in rent.

He also denied that there would be a hotel built near the course,
saying that Ibiza did not need any more hotel beds;
just to improve the ones that are already here
