All things Ushuaïa & HÏ IBIZA...

Because there's more outdoor music restrictions now compared to the past so the garden and rooftop are out. Hï actually has 3 rooms counting the bathroom DJ, but I understand it's not open all nights.

I also think DJ fees have skyrocketed as well so those multiroom parties can't be justified as much anymore. We're lucky to get 3 solid headliners on some Ibiza nights
ya, makes sense! I feel like they could still manage with a low volume option, as to what Space did in later years, but also acknowledge further restrictions were passed. Would be nice to see other venues explore this option, like Akasha is doing, where maybe someone like Pacha uses their secret garden, roof, etc for a hybrid afternoon-evening event, or ambient backdrop with chill out. I also know Eden has a decent roof, and the former Sankeys- so will be interesting to see if this model can somehow be explored.

I’m looking at getting a table at Ushuaia

We are 40+ year old ravers who want a bit of space to party but don’t want to too far away from the action - want to see the dance floor / DJ and feel in the mix

Anyone know what it’s like in vip 1 C and D?

It may be too late to give you a useful answer, in case you already went, but perhaps this may help someone else... (report back if you already went!)

You'll have a slightly elevated view (perhaps 30-40 cm), so you'll be able to see clearly. This "1" area is always busy, people are standing, so it's not an unobstructed view.

Ushuaia uses the same kind of speaker configuration that a festival uses, a line array. You won't have any trouble with feeling like you're in the music.

I think you'll be hypnotized by the experience of having space compared to the General Admission crowd, but I suggest you venture out for at least a little bit, because you'll run into a lot of people that are doing the same as you, with less budget, but no less passion. The energy of an enthusiastic crowd can be worth much more than the space or view. Good luck, I hope you have a nice time!

Nice appreciate the response- we’re going in September. Do you know Is there much of a difference between vip area 1 or 2 as area 2 is cheaper….

We are gonna book. It will make the experience better for some of my mates who aren’t big ravers

That's a harder question to answer haha! I sympathize with you and your non-raver friends, that's a tough equation to balance. I personally think that area 2 is less connected to the show experience. Mostly because it's in between the pool and the back of the club. There's less residual crowd energy. No that there's ever a great connection between general admission and VIP, generally speaking.

Are you hoping to convert your non-raver friends? Area 1 is better for that. If you're reaching a friendly compromise, area 2. I hope everyone has a great time either way!

So impressions of Ushuia and Hi opening in April:

Positives:
1. Great sound system
2. Open air
3. Great line up

Negatives:
1. Overcrowded
2. Horrible crowd

I think that maybe overcrowding makes people so annoyed and aggressive. It was so busy at times I couldn't move at all, for the first time in my life felt unsafe, people screaming and pushing, can't move either direction, it was absolutely disgusting! I don't understand how they are allowed to do that, people could die.

So even thought music was great, couldn't enjoy it all, waste of money and time. Will never go back and don't recommend to anyone until they stop over crowding the place.

Hi club was a bit better, Club room had a good vibe and there was space to dance. Couldn't believe how much better and how much more we could enjoy ourselves compared to the nightmare that was ushuia. All the DJs smashed it in club room and we could dance our tits off. Will be going back to Hi again if the line up is good!

Ushuia on the other hand, never again, better spend the day at the beach!

You think? For me, the weakest thing about both venues is the sound systems! But I am just a sound snob....
Club room not as bad as the Theatre as they just cant crack that nut.. But compared to Pacha, the rest are just blu tooth speakers imo.. As for crowding, went to Ushuaia in September for Ants (first time in years I might add) and it was just push / shove and just not my bag at 47.. Over crowding, but as said many times over the years, the layout with the pool area its just not designed for that volume of people.. I have cheap (€25) tixs for Defected bagged for September, so will venture in and see how it is.. But l wouldn't pay €100 as per some events taking place, and get squashed like lemon, no thanks.. Never mind no phones, no dancing it seems these days 😂

In terms of open air venues I think it was really good. Surprised they are allowed to play it that loud in the middle of the town! Amnesia club room took the top spot in terms of inside venues though.

Any inside knowledge of when Ushuaia will announce their closing party? it'll be on the 12th Oct, but don't want to miss out on first release tickets with the way they ramp up prices >.< Last years Vortex was the worse I've been to, hoping for a less commercial line up this year rather than Bicep classics and peggy / anotr pop music.... , fingers crossed Keinmusik aren't involved in it either, although I'd find it easier to get into that kind of music in the Sunshine.
