Knew what you meant lol..Did I say yesterday?![]()
Really enjoyed OFF BRAND at Akasha on Friday night - my first trip to the new project from Ewan McVicar, Man Power, & The Brothers Grimm, although Man Power was away for this one.
Arrived just before 12 so the garden was closed (besides for smoking / chilling) and loved Rosie’s opening set, before Budino & Ewan McVicar closing.
Once the curtain closed behind the DJ booth around 1.30, when lots of people also arrived, the dance-floor had a really nice buzz to it and Ewan McVicar played an absolute blinder of a set - which he also posted about on his IG, comparing it to Glasgow’s iconic Sub Club.
Nice mixture of ages and with everyone having a great time and with very few phones out (although the bouncers didn’t object if people did take the odd photo / video - unlike when I’ve been there previously and people have been told to stop by bouncers).
Really hope OFF BRAND continues after this summer and it would be great to see them do some winter / off season events.
Ewan is some special. Plays like he has old boots on.. Well Jell.. and hope to catch if they have a September party, think they do?Really enjoyed OFF BRAND at Akasha on Friday night - my first trip to the new project from Ewan McVicar, Man Power, & The Brothers Grimm, although Man Power was away for this one.

Boooo.. pity as one thing that struck a cord when l first noticed him was as a young buck he played and understood house tunes of old. Music l danced too 30yrs ago, like he was embedded in the mist of the smoke machine. He’s a rising star, who will shine very bright soon.Honestly one of the best sets I’ve heard in a long time. I really don’t think Ewan gets the respect he deserves - especially outside of Scotland / UK. He is technically gifted, plays really unique sets tailored to that crowd, and is a thoroughly lovely person who always has a smile on his face. Happy to pose for photos too and chat with people.
There’s a OFF BEAT September date (26th Sept) but Ewan is touring Canada then so away.
Usually they split the tkts so you can buy entry to both or just outside .. 7-11 and inside 11-5 usually ..when you go on spotlight to purchase they give you the options .Just a personal thing I like to get there early ,get food either from a stall inside las dalias or the restaurant next door or in San Carlos the nearbye town, then soak it all in plenty of room to chill etc .I don’t think the market open on a Thursday but I may be wrong,The market area when open adjoins the music area and once in you can roam around .Not been to Las Dalia’s/Akasha before and planning on going for Lee Burridge in September.
Is Las Dalias an outside area open until a certain time when the club opens? Does one ticket get you into both? Also what kind of time do both areas open?
Thanks!

Water is served in an horrible aluminum can now...However the outside area becomes purely a smoking / chilling area once the club opens at 11pm. Also you are not able to take drinks outside - including water (which is served in a glass bottle).

Taste horrible.
Was in can for Sven and Supernova![]()
Why even remove the cap? They usually do it so it can't be used as 'a weapon'Maybe they ran out of the cans as Sven was the previous night?
Glass bottles without caps in clubs are never the best!
