^^ Aha .. I am a little the wiser now on the man - but very clueless as to his musical leanings. :idea: Well, I guess they aren't going to draft anyone in who wants more than (hopefully) his costs covered ? Can't imagine it'll be a sell-out tbh !

Menorca Space Nightclub opens its doors Friday with an opening party exceptional.
From 23 hours until six in the morning, the new nightclub located in the port of Ciutadella
offer a first taste of what will be the musical feast of the summer season,
the first in which the firm prestigious Ibiza International will be present in Menorca.

To give the starting gun on Friday, has prepared a poster headed by Kurd Maverick
as guest artist. This German producer took hold among large thanks to his productions

there´s definitely NO disco @ ibiza which is in such a mindblowing location ...

Yeah the whole lot got wiped from all my threads when the forum software got "upgraded" ! They were pasted direct not hosted so maybe this is why ... only so many pics I can be bothered to upload to hosting sites and keep the accounts going - it takes hours. Sad thing is this was the only place some of them were kept. :roll: Oh well ... IT is just a pain in the a**e - nothing much lasts long before it is upgraded, wiped, corrupted or superseded ... and I can never be bothered to try to keep up with it all - too busy out enjoying my life :) !

That club location is amazing. Probably the best I ever came across. If they put on proper underground nights it would be heaven. It's pretty much all commercial house and commercial crowd though. Right club, wrong island !
 
Nice to revisit this thread though. I was telling a kid at work about it only the other day. Hes a boring bastard though so it would never work for him, hey ho!
 
... so blame it on kimajy and his amazing review that i might check menorca out in pre-season ;)

if only flights weren´t that silly around this time of the year ... does anybody know if there is something like a direct boat from menorca => ibiza ?? don´t want to go via f***ing mallorca ...

:cool: .. it's such a beautiful place and the best beaches are nicer than Ibiza (imho). It feels completely different and you need to get out on the water in a kayak or something to find those special places you can't walk to. I nearly booked to go again this May but the Fiesta del Mar didn't seem to be happening and then I got so busy with a flood of work that I can't yet see when I will have time to go anywhere.

If I can find the SD card with the photos on I'll try to post them back on this thread.

going this week !
staying in the same area like you ... wanted to be close to cova den xoroi for sunsets and stuff. nightparties there starting first weekend of may.

found great info+videos about menorca @ youtube.
already have ridiculous long list where to go/what to see etc...
what makes me a littte bit nervous is - that according to some travelguides - menorca has more beaches than ibiza + mallorca together !?!
so many beaches - so little time ;)
 
LOTS of great piccys to come I hope. You will just have to go back when you start to find those really good beaches - I still daydream about first arriving at a couple of them ... you fall in love with the place - completely different way to Ibiza but just as powerful in its own way. Don't miss those sweet tasting funny-looking lobsters and the great Menorcan cured meats / strong red wine (some nice shops selling it near Binibeca). I sometimes wish there was just a bit more of that "Ibiza thing" going on. But I miss it less as I age !

what can i say ... that menorca-thing was/is a 1.000.000 $ tip ... it's exactly like you described it above !!
already the moment you leave the airport you feel a very different more relaxed vibe here... then everything is so green and fresh with crazy vegetation.in many patts of the island that ibiza almost looks like a desert ;)
very good start 4 me ... got a brandnew v
car (less than 500 km!) and already drove 550 km in 3 days for firdt orientation ;)
stay very close to yourr place
perfect area not far from aitport and to ecplore the whole island.
aquarium.is still closed right now.
island is awaking very slow here from wintersleep-modus.
had 2 fantastic beach days till now and one day with mega-rain and storm (yesterday).
water almost evetywhere clear as F -
but still quite freezing.
great people here ... minding there own business and very friendly.
lots of amazing architecture in.the old part of mahon and especially ciutadella.
great seafood; too, f.e. in fornells .
was afraid that i overacted a little bit because i booked for 10 days !!
but think.won't be a problem ;)
will be @ the opening-party of covadenxeroi on 3rd of may !

unreal beaches ... unbelievable clean and fresh everywhere here ...
i love ibiza - but in comparison it looks like a dirty+rotten hellhole ;)
going to ibiza in a few weeks anyway,
but wanted to make a short trip (1 or 2 nights), but flightprices menorca-ibiza-menorca were around 400 euros !!

only bad thing i can say so far is that they have only crap radio-stations ... "best" i found was flaixfm.
and almost no hotties so far ... at least didn't see more than maybe 5 in 8 days.

2night covadenxoroi- opening !!
 
So glad you're enjoying it. I absolutely love Menorca. Go take out a kayak in the bay from Fornells (get a guide), cross over to the other side (East side) and you can find some really beautiful tiny beaches and coves there and very special places. It is such a nice way to spend a half-day if it's not too windy.

It's not the place for silicone and high heels. But if you like the Basque look (think Aigues Blanques), there are some real stunning girls out and about. The radio sucks - USB or some CDs for the car stereo essential.

I think you will enjoy Cova opening. Just leave the car at home because I got stopped and breathylized on the way there (was OK fortunately !) .. they set up a road block regularly because it is one road in to control, only usually opens at weekends and there are so few clubs that the Policia have nothing else to do. Make sure you take a look out to sea from the dancefloor through the openings in the cave walls. You can see the sea birds flying in and out of their nests over the water from the edge of the dancefloor. Pretty special.
