_____ pacha's new funky room & dj booth _____

Hi,

Yes I have been to Pacha a few times and have seen the DJ booth in action and although it isn't a show stoppingly obvious change it has proved to be a good one. Far more room to dance, the crowd now face to the left of the main room so the stairs don't get as blocked as they used to and it is far easier to move around. It also looks a lot nicer and 'cooler' but remains as intimate as the previous booth. It is also far more colourful and with the times as graphics can be featured in the screens on the outside of it.

is the new dj-booth in action every night or only for the biggest nights like FMIF ??

for my taste this thing is way to edgy for the layout of this classic niteclub pacha :?
isn´t it possible to build a "rounder" dj-booth or doesn´t this work
because you can´t make this LED-crap "round" ??

i think it's being used on every night but not 100% sure.
i guess they could have made the booth round, but surely would be much more difficult to do so...

yes sure - more difficult and more expensive, but they just have to pack 10 more
people inside at a guetta-night and all expenses are covered :twisted:

on the pic this edgy thing looks more like bcm-palace in magaluf :o
 
i personally like it. and more so that the dj is now simply at a better position than before.
 
Not been to Pacha since 96 or 97 so are these pics of the main room or funky room.Back then the dj box was on the right on the stairs going down to dance floor and the funky room was just inside the main entrance tru a door on the right.Sean a guy livin with us in Cana negretta was the dj there with jose padilla & juan.
 
I was there on Friday and there is definitely more room now. Felix da Housecat smashed it as well 8)

I am in agreement with most people I have talked to on the new booth. The location is 100% spot on. It works better and means that the dancefloor is the whole lengh of Pacha so MUCH more space. My only criticism is that Pacha is all about white washed walls, so while the LCD booth is great, in Pacha I'm just not so sure its needed. Apart from that its perfect.......

So.....what is the latest on the "new" & "old" DJ booth? It seems that the old booth is now being used again. Both Tong and Defected are back using it.

Personally I loved the locaiton of the new booth as when it was low it felt much more of an intimate party. However, I did spent one night the opposite side of the room and it did feel like I was away from the action.

Will they continue to use both, or will the old one be back full-time from next season?

In some ways the main problem was never the booth location, but the dancefloor size - and Pacha have corrected this by making it bigger, and access to the main room is easier with the main stairs being opened up.

Anyone know?
 
for some reason, they went back on using the old dj booth for about two or three weeks from late august onwards. now (since a few days only) the new dj booth is in use again and apparently has been amended a bit, haven't seen it myself yet though.
 
Very interesting. Has anyone had any DJ feedback on the new DJ booth? My assumption is that they would prefer the new booth as its much closer to the punters.

From what I have seen Tong has had it the lowest and has really made his parties feel more intimate. I always thought Luciano prefered head-level DJing, but Cadenza seem to have it slghtly more elevated than I expected!
