Alfredo - dance floor killer

I was there for we love opening

now...to explain. I still live in world where the 10pm-midnight slot on the terrace is the best part of the day. i prefered the old terrace but hey ho i'll work with what we've got.

i get to space early (well 5pm nowadays but i'd be there at 11 given the chance!), so for me 8pm-10pm is still a pretty f-ing pivotal slot. given that the first DJ (jason bye this time around) only really gets the place going from 7-8.

so it is with great trepidation that i saw that Alfredo has to 8-10 slot last Sunday (last year he even had 10-midnight on one occasion). now, i dont know if he has some photos that the owners of space dont want to get out but man alive its depressing to even try to work out why he gets ANY slot.

i realise he is part of ibiza's history but its time for him to be put out to pasture, or sent to the chill out room or something. yet again he absolutely killed the place on Sunday (as he has done consistently in the past) to the extent that a group of 20 people i was with all left the terrace to go upstairs. this was despite being loaded up to the eyeballs ready to dance. this then leaves us with just 2 hours of quality time on the terrace - and thank the lord that Funkagenda slammed it.

there are brilliant DJs that would pay a lot of money for the chance to play the terrace and intstead we get a disinterested Alfredo playing self indulgent dirge, badly.

the outdoor session at Space is hanging on by its fingernails as an event, and some slightly more inspired DJ booking would be much appreciated. :cry:
 
Do all the rooms stay open at WeLove?
Or do the terraces or El Salon shut at a certain time?

What exactly else is there in Space? I heard all sorts from you can get a massage to buy sandwiches and food?!

Sunset Terrace turned music off @ Midnight last summer
El Salon (and the other small room upstairs) was open for most of the time (i think)
The roof terrace had to turn music down/off after midnight (i think)
New Terrace & Discoteca were both banging it out from 6-8pm till 6am

Whether this has changed this summer i don't know....
 
What are the ticket prices like on the island this year? €50 with the pass out seams reasonable, can't remember what I paid in 2008 tho?

Do these rooms stay open though?
Like, say 3am if you just want to go and have a break from dancing etc, is there anywhere to chillout lol?

as far as I know, We Love are responsible for booking the whole club.

scott answered the opening times for the rooms........red box also continues till end.

the sunset terrace stays open the whole time so is a great chill out, as are el salon and roof terrace.

re ticket prices. they are the same as here http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/promoters/we_love_space_i.htm and with the same conditions. i.e. passout if you enter before 9pm.

yes, there are some flyers and tickets on the island that offer you a discounted entry, but you usually have to be in before 9pm and you don't get a passout either

I'll second that...unfortunately....we all went upstairs to avoid it bringing us down.

There are so many good DJs that would jump at the chance to get things going but they persist with Alfredo...luckily funkagenda was there but it could have been even better with a decent warm up DJ. I think they could really attract more people in earlier and bring back the atmosphere if they dropped Alfredo.
 
My girlfriend even overheard a group of girls in the toilet queue they were going to leave they were so disappointed. Luckily she persuaded them to stay and listen to Funkagenda and when we saw them later they were really chuffed hey did.

Hi I'm expecting to attend We Love on Sun 11 July..but when I saw the line-up I started having my doubts. Apart from S.Lawler & Funkagenda, I'm not that sure about whther the other 'headliners' are that 'big':
Hot Chip (DJ set), Steve Aoki, The Juan Maclean, Joe Ransom
Do you think is it still worth to go to Space on that date? Cause I was thinking of going to Cadenza straightaway....

from experience Steve Aoki is an awesome watch, heavy music lots of dirty synth. and he's pretty crazy man, its more like watching a metal/rock show he jumped around everywhere hahaha love him. hot chip dj set last year was awesome (on the terrace if i remember rightly)
and apparently funkagenda tears it up every time i heard that was the highlight of the opening party by a lot of people! so maybe it's worth it for that alone.

We had free guestlist before 8pm so got in at 10 to 8 to hear Balkamaniac being smashed out, only for Alfredo to come on and absolutely kill the place, we went upstairs and just sat off until about 10 to 10.
Funkagenda smashed it, amazing, when he dropped da funk i nearly **** myself!
 
Starts 4.30pm. Never really a queue. I aim to get there about 7-8pm normally. Sunset Terrace is the busiest to start but everybody moves from there when Alfredo comes on:)
 
If necessary force them at gunpoint to WLS! Last year I was outvoted 4 to 1 to go to Judgement Sunday, never again!

I'll go on my own if need be
