25Y Cocoon Ibiza: Memories

I’ve had a nightmare from start to finish there lmao everything took off me walking in. My lass getting kicked out then my phone dying and i had no cash

Edit - and no signal with battery!
Gutted for you mate..hope you got back OK...

Hawtin was good...but not the best set I have heard from him. Think I set my expectations too high.

Wasn't digging the after party either. Just wanted some banging tunes but it was far too eclectic for my taste.

On my fourth beer now, nursing my woes

Outside was 5*,Dettman and Sven had the place rolling, tune after tune. Inside was a bit of a marathon, heavy going. He played two hours of slow heavy trancey electro tunes. Between 2.30-3.30 he picked it up. But it was hard going. Great crowd, loads of 40+. 90% of people off the phones.
Overall proper Ibiza experience.
The magic is still there when you get the recipe right 😊😊😊

Yeah ended up getting back fine thanks mate. Still had a really good night despite everything 🤣 . I would pay money to not hear talk talk its my life again though
Haha...ahhh that's the tune...I vaguely remembered that tune...who dropped that? Sven?

I kind of liked it!!!!

Yeah,Hes played it the last 3 times ive seen him
Now

He must surely know he gets a lot of repeat ‘customers’ and playing quirky tunes like that over and over gets a bit tiresome. Playing the same techno track at various gigs might go unnoticed generally unless it’s a big one.

Fully agree!

I heard that talk talk track last year at las Dalias and I liked it, like it when djs throw in a tune like that here and there. But if he did it every time it would be a bit boring (Sounds like he does in Ibiza at least). That said, I heard atlas last year and heard it this year too and didn’t mind it as it’s such a good track, guess it’s a good job there was a year between both gigs.

I would have loved to have stayed longer than what I did as I was really enjoying Sven and was even managing to dance for the most part without being used as a doorway, but the attitude on a lot of people - especially women in the toilet queue was just ruining it for me :(

I found the crowd iffy tbh. Some ok , some pricks. Did however get speaking to a 22 year old and his girlfriend and he was a music head. Sent me a link to a tune of his which has just been signed by sasha and its mega!

Yeah I know what you mean, every now and again you’d meet someone who restored your faith in humanity but on the whole a bit meh.

What a top night from start to finish I had. Danced from 5pm to 4am, Sven finished with La isla bonita. And here's the thing, of course everybody notices these pop curveballs, and usually when people say he played samey they are talking about his 2 to 3 hour slots. But give this man a room and 5 hours like at the afters, and he creates absolute magic. I did not recognize one single track apart from atlas and the end, he surprised me with droney and trancy afterhour techno with weird vocals. It was soo good, I still can't believe it. I understand this sound yesterday wasn't for everyone, but this man left his heart and soul out there on that dancefloor, and I respect that!

Btw loved Hawtins set too, Dettmann played mainly house and I thought the first hour was much too chilled.

Honestly i thought sven was good but only good. Would of been nice to hear some cocoon classics chucked in the mix. Dettmann was ace from when we arrived about 7pm
