I heard one kid boasting about taking E and K and G 8O ...UMMMM does death ring a bell??? Or one kid who was sitting down with one of those hand held back vibrators (and I do mean FOR THE BACK) in his mouth, changing between that and the pacifier. Where does this stuff come from?

Axon, I wonder if those crasher kids adopted that from seeing the American candy kids? I just never saw ANY of that when I was in Ibiza, and these candy kids here, some of them haven't even heard of Ibiza. They are too busy dancing to Zombie Nation... :P

(Sorry for generalizing!!! BUT...it is mostly true, in my experience)

But before Axon comes down, PachaGirl79 and I have to definitely drive up to LA to party it up with Anjali. Girl... you deserve it. Did you two pick a week?
 
No we haven't discussed it but I am thinking next weekend as I will be getting paid and will have major projects out of the way. YAY!!!
 
This raver thing is an interesting phenomenon, nevertheless. One girl when I was an undergraduate even wrote her paper about raving being a modern religion 8O and PLUR was basically their biblical text. :?:

One of my workmates, his wife did her social anthropology PhD thesis on the rave scene in North America. She went to lots of raves and just hung out with the kids. She got well into the music although I don't think she goes out raving anymore.

Axon, as for a middle point I think there is this fabulous town off the 101 (or 1, whatever it changes to) that is all Dutch or something. Maybe there??? Some good raving in the field must go on and they MUST have some meth or something...

Lots of clubbers used to dress like that over here from about '98 to around '01 I think. It really does seem to have died down now thank god :lol:

You don't really get any of it in Ibiza, due to the main music being house....not trance.

p.s-I never dressed like that either ;)

Anjali, the town is Solvang. You know we can take a train up there from SD or LA? The town is a Danish town.

I think around this time the rave scene here became mainstream and the candy just exploded. For me it is upsetting because it isn't about the music for a lot of them (NOT ALL) but it is about who can get more bracelets around their wrist or who has the craziest makeup and best costume. I rarely see those fairies actually dancing...they are always flying around the back areas where there is no music or creating puppy piles in the corner :? Or maybe I am just not a joiner...

It was never like that over here, they all dressed like that at clubs like 'Crasher and Gods, but they seemed to still all be into it.
