Ah, that guy. A Russian insane asylum probably would have been better punishment for him than life in prison... though prisons here are no joke either!

Guus should have had him on the team last night. At least he's got a killer instinct and takes his chances   :?

oh dear.

young Aiden McGeady must be delighted that he chose the Republic of Ireland over Scotland now

on our game last night
despite France dominating possession for huge chunks of the game - there was only 1 real save for Gordon to make
after the goal we had 3/4 excellent breaks that could have killed it

will be tough with Ukraine (h) Georgia (a) and Italy (h) but we have put ourselves right in there with a massive chance

to think draw with Ukraine and we cannot finish below 3rd - at the time of the draw you'd have never believed it

i know qualification is the goal here, but even if you don't qualify, this good campaign will mean that for subsequent qualifying groups, you will be higher ranked and therefore unlikely to end up in such a tough group as this one.

same goes for NI, progress without qualifying is rewarded.

absolutely

after the draw - most people outside Scotland would have put the group being France/Italy 1 & 2, Ukraine 3rd and Scotland scrapping with Georgia & Lithuania for 4th

even now, its been a fantastic acheivement

Heres my views:

Scotland- Brilliant, i'm chuffed, a heroic performance. I REALLY hope you qualify, and it seems like it'll be between Scotland and Italy. All the scots need is to do beat ukraine at home (possible), beat Goergia away (possible) and DRAW with Italy at home!.. That would mean the Italians out!! :D:D (assuming France win theyre remaining games) That would make me so happy 8)

England- good performance. Thought the Russian goal shouldve been given and that might've changed things but nevertheless, England deserved to win. I dont think MClaren has the balls to keep Lampard on the bench when he returns though.

Rep Ire- Sorry but that was a red card, and Czechs are always tough to beat so that result wasn't too surprising.

Spain- Poor performance again, we should be beating Latvia 4 or 5 nil. Our manager shouldve quit after the world cup liek he promised. We should have enough to qualify, we need to get a draw in Denmark though. I think the valiant Northern Ireland kissed their chances goodbye yesterday.

how does that coach keep his job with the plethora of bad results Spain have had?

Very good point!!! To be honest though you are better off without him. He has been absolutely shocking in every game I have seen him play for Ireland. I think he was playing for the Czechs last night. He kept passing the ball to them.

It pains me as a Celtic fan but i agree he has been shocking, McGeady has over the last few seasons shown some brilliant form and has great potential but is not consistent enough and has been off the boil now for a while.:?

obviously my view is biased
but

he seems to just be a fancy dan - i've rarely see him put a telling ball into the box
recently Old Firm games, Alan Hutton has gone home with him in his back pocket
