Yesterdays Footy

I'm just back from Paris now and I can quite easily say it was the best night of my football-supporting life, absolutely unreal.
The march from the Eiffel Tower was unbelievable, we took over the Parc De Princes. I still can't believe we won.

how does that coach keep his job with the plethora of bad results Spain have had?

This year we've actually had some pretty decent results, up till the Iceland game we'd won 6 on the trot.. including beating England at Old Trafford 8)

But youre right, normally he'd been sacked by now, problem is all the managers we wanted were under contract when the time came about.

Stu, brilliant pictures

Agreed... had a stinker.

This may ruffle a few feathers, but I thought Gerrard wasn't his usual best. Seemed like he was trying too hard. (Still pick him over Frank any day of the week).

Also Johnny, The Czech Republic are a very good team. Going to their gaff, its not a dead cert to get 3 points!

Totally agree with both the Gerrard and Barry views mate. Thought overall the selection was highly effective and extremely well balanced. The most complete team performance from an England side in a long time8)8)8)

Woweee that looks incredible mate!

England have always had finishers, always had a bit of pace, always won fair share of the long balls. never kept hold of the thing tho. now? we keep hold. why? new generation. brought up on zola, cantona, henry etc. wright phillips, cole even our right backs for christ sake, are now perhaps as comfortable on the ball as the italians/spanish etc. combine this with our traditional qualities & we may, finally have merged the flair of the foreign imports into our home grown & be seeing the benefit of our teams progress in euro competition.

if he drops either of the two right sided players it will be a backward step obviously. back to whooooooosh stick it in the box (which we did do to great effect yesterday, but at the right time) from becks.

Barry, well - who would have thought. lampard with out a copy of the sun, and he is even mates with our stevie - we love it!

but the dark cloud is when we lose a match, the papers go nuts, stick a turnip on the back page & the current crop are ruined by the pressure in the same way that frankyboy has been.
