Ya, I know... the West Upper where I usually sit now costs 60 quid a seat 8O

Looks like it'll be October before I get over for another game. :(

I was like 'are you having a laugh??!' to Tom, 'think of what £96 could buy me in Top Shop' ;)

My wife's the other way around! I think she's still bitter I didn't take her to London when I went in April for the game against Birmingham
(but she came along for Barcelona in March so she's got nothing to complain about!)

Then again, she does love her Top Shop

call yourself a supporter you never go to the match.
I've been to about 12 games over the past 2 seasons.

How many (Spurs?) games have you been to in that time period?

Morbyd - you talk just like all the other chelski fans do......out your ying yang ;) , if you'd have watched the villa match you'd have seen what I was referring to, like you say a win is a win but helps if you show you really want to win it which you boys didn't really do (plus you ....one question for you, how long have you supported chelsea? (or 'soccer' come to that?)

That is a lot of money, Barbie.

My season ticket in the Matthew Harding lower was £650 this season - not bad I reckon 8)

Karen and I are going to the West Brom game if you fancy a beer before hand ;)

I doubt she can afford one now

At least with Chelsea, you know where the money's going and your almost assured a decent game...and trophies.

Birmingham City have the nerve to charge about £45 to away fans.

At least Man City only charge £350 for a season ticket. :D

I think it's cos he booked them last week so there were only expensive seats left, he told me that they're really good seats tho

I draw the line at season tickets  Altho it wouldn't be worth it for Tom anyway cos he works some Saturdays and then fitting games in round clubbing shenanigans

I don't think I'm going to go now, I told him to take his brother but if he can't go I'll let you know, any excuse for a pre-match drink ;)

I attend a decent number of Chelsea games despite living on the other edge of Europe, so your arguments implying that I don't matter as a fan or can't have an opinion are disrepectful and insipid.

Furthermore, I am simply tired of this stupid-ass European idea that Americans know nothing about football (i.e. soccer). It is an ignorant assumption and those of you who subscribe to it are similarly ignorant.

I went to my first "soccer" game when I was a little pup (the Washington Diplomats in the old North American Soccer League before it went defunct). I started following the game again in '94 when we hosted the World Cup. I lived in Boston at the time and the city was dead silent during the final as there's a lot of people of Italian and Brazilian descent.

After moving overseas 9 years ago I started following it a lot more.

Yes, there are a lot of major sports in the US and so football has to compete with American football, baseball, basketball and hockey for attention. What else do they have in the UK? Cricket? OK, at least rugby is a decent game if chaotic.

Half the kids in my neighborhood played soccer in organized leagues. The problem was, in the 10-year absence of a professional league, there was little emphasis on continuing to the professional level.

That's all changed now. And I'd remind you that England's consistently underachieving national team went out in the quarterfinals of the last World Cup to an eventual finalist. Guess what? So did the USA! And we had a German handball in the goalmouth ignored by the referees during a very even game, whereas England were thoroughly beaten by the Brazilians. We were even ranked higher than England by FIFA for a good while after the World Cup.

Yes, I support Chelsea. No, it hasn't been since childhood, but I'll still support them 20 years from now when things could be different. I've made a lot of friends around the bridge, I've studied some of the history, I've met some of the players, I own 4 kits, and if I move to the UK I'll be a season ticket holder. So get off your "I've been supporting my team ever since my daddy took me to my first game and have no free thoughts of my own" high horses and accept that facts are facts. Chelsea kicks your teams ass 8)

Rant over. That is all 8)

Thanks for indepth response Morbyd but it was a simple question which only required a simple answer.........thanks for a bit of your history though, I feel as though I know you 10 times better and there was no implying that you don't matter as a fan (reading between lines there I feel!) so disrespectful is something I'm not  .

I think its good to see that americans take an interest in football (especially the Glazers  )......but lets be fair its a very small %age of which you are hence the ignorance of us stupid ass Europeans as you call us  and to quote you "I've been supporting my team ever since my daddy took me to my first game and have no free thoughts of my own" what do you expect when your 5/6 years of age, you grow into things your not a wealth of knowledge about football teams so you go with the colour of kit or what your dad tells you cos at that age they know best......so a little unfair of you I feel!!!!!

You comments still didn't clarify how long you've supported Chelsea for tho ;), I pressume its longer than the Mr A's era, you know when they had no money and were borderline bankrupt...
