Worst Things about ibiza.

Lets all get back to 'reality' here.

There are some bad things about the island.

In your opinon what are they?

For me one of them has to be the ever increasing house prices.

Some of the prices of houses for what you get are rediculous.

Agree with you on that one - over the past 4 years I have been checking out purchasing property in Ibiza, I can now only afford at the North end of the Island, or an apartment in a block in San An, not ideal! but then again, the UK is as bad for ridiculous prices..... the bubble must burst soon in both Ibiza and the UK ......

In Ibiza-City did I had all the time (24 hours/7 days) in front of my apartment those guys who did sell drugs. Everytime I opened the door of the appartmentbuilding was the same question "Psss, hash/xtc?" Really annoying, and really not a safe feeling!

The prices are unreasonable for drinks in clubs and bars considering how cheap they are in shops. (I bet they're even cheaper in bulk!)

I also hate the house prices, i have been looking for years and only this year have i found something i can afford thats nice although the community charge is high. (115k euro for 2 bed apartment with sunset view in Cala Vadella)

I also hate the dangerous drivers although i'd admit that its probably not the ibizian people but the tourists

The commercialism of the club scene nowadays

The lack of direct flights from london out of season

*Ridiculous commercialism and (just about) overpriced everything
*The large numbers of arrogant/pretentious/unfriendly people that just don’t “get it”
*Lager lads, drink till you puke crowd
*The West End
*Lack of interaction between different nationalities (I know language is often a barrier). Toronto and Montreal are sooo much better than Ibiza in this regard.
*Guy/gal ratio

Do I think the island is overrated? Yes, absolutely.

That being said, do I love the music, the beaches, the energy, etc. Yes.

Will I blow a ridiculously large quantity of Canadian dollars yet again next year. In all likelihood, yes!

I forgot a main one

Poor selections of food in supermarkets, no decent bacon, crap toilet paper (excuse the pun) fresh meat selction etc.

one of my least favourite things is the crap all over the most popular beaches. Really annoys me - why can't people take their rubbish with them, or at least find a bin??

I tend to agree with most of these but my main gripe is lack of direct flights out of season. I would love to go in winter without the hassle or the expense :(

Lack of fresh fruit on sale in San An however I did discover a fruit market in the town near Mambo so I will need to remember that next yeat

Bad service in many eateries and many bars and clubs

Lack of buses and taxis when you need them.

Crap supermarkets stocking crap. I believe Sainsburys should open a branch somewhere over there.

Too many people from Essex and North Lincolnshire on the island making the place look untidy. ;)

Don't you think that prices are still going up? It was so damn hard to buy property from Ibiza before EU. Now it's so much easier that I can imagine there is plenty of people who would like to live in White Isle. Ibiza is small island and when there is a huge demand - prices will go up :!:

Or not :?:

Supersta

Yes i do think prices will continue to go up, thats another reason why i bought this year. If the tourist board also suceed in extending the season to make ibiza complete with mallorca then that will also help.

They should build some more golf courses (ideally on the west coast) as they would bring the all year round golfers who usually have plenty of cash to spend whilst on holiday.

For me the worst thing about the island was not getting to see and do all the things I wanted to!!!!!

Are you guys so sure real estate's prices in Ibiza are so different compared to others "famous" holyday locations?
I don't think so, try and take a look to suothern France, Sardinia, Tuscany, Canary Islands etc.

Sure Ibiza is not Cannes, and I hope it will never be.
Imho what makes Ibiza so special and different from others places is the range of situations you can find in such a small area. The bad and the good ones!

Any place has its pros and cons, you have to decide what your priorities are.

What I don't really like about the island is the stinky smell in certain areas and the traffic from Eivissa to S. Eularia (arghhhhhh)

Get that everytime I am in Amsterdam! ;-)
