World Cup Thread

i always thought Henry was such an elegant player but after CL final he looks to me more and more of a sad looser. :?
The thing is that I was told off on this forum about the diving thing after Barça-Chelsea mach, when Messi supposedly dived after Assier playing too strong. Most of here insisted it's a spanish thing and bla bla bla but looking at the CL and world cup you better look at your players with a bit more of objectiviness

BTW, you can say lots of things about Puyol, but he is one of the most honest guys in the whole liga

dont blame us if bloody foreigners playing over here start throwing themselves to the floor as soon as someone look at them? ;)

I didn't think Spain particularly deserved to lose.

The nucleus of the squad is good but key areas let it down

Casillas
Puyol
Perenia
Sergio Ramos
Xavi
F Torres

all did well

Alonso & Fabregas flattered to deceive IMO
Raul is finished
D Villa should never have been taken off at 1-1
Joaquin make a couple of runs but nowhere near enough adventure
Pablo was all over the place.
Luis Garcia was a shambles as well IMO

I partly agree with you there. I think Raul is way over the hill. Pablo isnt any good, Luis Garcia shouldnt be playing for Spain and Joaquin is too inconsistent

However I do think that Cesc and Alonso will have more to offer in the future.

Anyway.. who cares about the WC.. just over two months for the season to start.. Come on Barca!!! :? ;)

good point syl....are there many brit players in prem??

Seriously though, I was surprised by last nights result as I have enjoyed watching Spain this world cup, what is it with aragones and Villa? why does he always take him off??

would love to see Torres, Xavi & Ramos over here :)

for me the world cup is over, for me there is no point if I cannot support a team, I stick with tennis while I await the league to come and await R.Madrid and R.Mallorca do better 8O 8O . I know, of dreams you cannot live!!! but I am "I Hope"!! girl!
yesterday nigth I received a text : los sueños, sueños son...

not saying they are not good players

but Xavi dwarfed them and yet Aragones took him off!

The problem is not Alonso nor Cesc the problem is Aragonés.
The biggest problem in Spain re selection is always the trainner or whatever you call him

im absolute gutted. feel really bad. as if something really precious has been removed from my heart

what am i gonna watch on the tv for the next two days!?!?!?!

2. Click on a game (any game that has been played that is).

3. Click on a goal scored in that game (the wee football next to the goal scorers name)

4. Watch every goal from the world cup so far (click the "poules" tab at the top of the page to switch to the group stage)

5. Praise the man that invented this - as he is a complete genius.

Henry to his credit did say that the rascism issue was forgotten.
Maybe Henry's forgotten, but I haven't.

Dive or no dive, whatever.... national politics aside, I thought it was a bit poetic that Henry's team sent Aragones' team home.

I'm no supporter of the French (though I'm a fan of Makalele, Zidane, Gallas) and I would have loved to see the Spanish go through... with anyone by Aragones at the helm.

I hope Spain will be back in 4 years with a new coach because there's a lot of good young talent on that team and lots of potential to go far in this tournament.

La Liga

Bit sidetracked, however....

....does anyone know when the fixtures are announced for the games next season? Mikkak? Silv?

Cheers!;)
