so much for holding out for brazilians and the french for my FF team

I was so incensed I almost transferred them all out last night

1 game is all they are getting then im going raj on their asses noemsayin??

I think that is a bit condescending to the Swiss. France are completely overhyped and the Swiss were the better team in both games in the qualifiers against France. You make it sound like Switzerland are just there to make up the numbers. If anything the Siwss had the better chances to score in the game.

I thought the Irish were a better team and should have gone through from that qualifying group, but they faultered in the campaign and the Swiss do have a good team.

Didn't mean to sound condescending. The French have, at least on paper, a better team but the Swiss looked every bit as good last night.

Dont worry your not offending me.....but you have redeemed yourself with your Irish comment!! Im Irish you see and that is how I know the Swiss so well. We have played them in last two qualifying (Euro 2004 and WC 2006). Yeah we looked like the best team in the group up until just over half way when we were top of the table and went to Israel. We were 1-0 up in the 92nd minute and then Israel scored. From then on, it went from bad to worse. 2-0 up in Dublin against Israel and they came back to draw 2-2 with their goalkeeper saving shot after shot with every part of his body and rolling around on the ground every chance he got. he actually ended up getting a bucket of ice thrown over him in the hotel after the game by and irish fan!!!
Then France came to Dublin and beat us 1-0. That was the only game in the group between France, Ireland, Switzerland and Israel that didnt end in a draw and ultimately meant France won the group and Ireland were out.

I really thought throughout the campaign though that Switzerland were probably the best team overall in the group and fully deserved that point yesterday. They are building for their hosting of Euro 2008 and you would have to fancy their chances to go a long way in that competition.
 
Damn... I was just down in the lobby of our building watching and returned to my desk just in time to miss the goal :evil:

I watched the first half, then back to the office, but my grandmother who lives next to my office bangs the wall for every goal!!!!!! plus the people at the bar scream so loud that I don't even have to look at the score in the net, 4-0 yuhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu:D:D:D:D:D:D

The Ukrainians look like they're wilting in this head... Spain looked fantastic from the bits of the game I saw.
