Sorry to be a pessimist(sp) but can'tsee england getting past the quarters,last 3 will be argies holland and brazil they are unstoppable.

Ecuador pulls it off

Must say I'm a bit surprised with Ecuador pulling off the upset over Poland.

I still have Costa Rica making the 2nd round after taking 2nd in the division.

Poland is in difficult situation now.
 
Agreed... the Ecuadorians were running the Poles in circles for much of the game. A bit short on technique at times but they are lightning fast. What an exciting fast-paced game, especially the first half!

Germany dominated the Costa Ricans but the Central Americans were never out of the game. I kept expecting an equalizer (their striker was in top form but had little service from his midfield) up until the Germans struck that wonder goal to go up 4-2.

Great start to the tournament :D

Go Trinidad! What a fun game to watch. Those guys celebrated like they'd just won the cup :lol: Hislop from West Ham is a hero.

Congrats to England, though I must say that was the most boring of 5 games played thus far...

Anyone else come away with the feeling that the Ivory Coast was robbed?

I wanted Cote d'Ivoire to win:( . As far as England was concerned, they looked a bit constipated.:lol: :spank:

England: mmmmmmmmmm. 3/10 must try harder. once again, inspired(!) substitutions. lets just hope it was the heat that got to the boys

argie v civ was a great game, did feel for the africans.
 
Hard to say which team has looked best until now.. Ivory Coast looked very good even though they lost, and Holland looked dangerous at times with Robben.

I think England, Portugal and Argentina, even though they won have a lot to improve.

Come on Australia, Ghana and Czech Republic ;) later
