if u can understand what it says then i dont really see the problem....but on the other hand people of other nationalities would have trouble dicefering the posts,im guilty of it in the past but have now tryed to stop it,its all because of mobile phones txt in my opinion....it doesnt mean you cant spell......i had one of the best spelling grades in my year at school and still used to write in so called 'youth' text on the internet and texts

Absolute genius :D :D :D

I joined in late, as usual, but I'd like to express my solidarity with N8.
And this one was a gem as well (sorry, lee... I tryed not to laugh  )

If you rephrase your question as so i can understand it i'll try to explain anything you ask!

erm, the fact that your username (N8)is exactly the sort of thing you are yammering on about. Nathan. ;)

dichotomy:
1. Division into two usually contradictory parts or opinions

lol, i looked up dichtomy in my dictionary too but still didnt understand your question relating to it :?

N8 shortens Nathan by 66% which is a lot quicker to type when logging in which is totally different to just missing out one letter which gives an almost imperceptable time saving when typing such a word. If my logon was Natha then i would be guilty of the crimes against spelling that i so hate ;) Also, a name can be anything one wants and there are no rules as to the spelling of names, hence they are not in the OED. :P

as i said i wasnt trying to prove that i could spell properly in my post....did'nt see the point in actually trying to spell everyword correctly,i typed it quickly...its only a message board no need to check over tiny spelling mistakes

don't worry, mate, I was just kidding with you. It was just the dichotomy between what you said and the typo.

Here's a question for everyone: I understand lol and brb, but what is pmsl?

here are some more

ntbuswab- Not to bring up Star Wars again but

totb- taking off training bra
(^^^ one for R Kelly)

toligtifmh- the only love I'll get tonight is from my hand

tgiss- the girl I'm secretly stalking

dpommb- don't pick on my "man boobs!"

Ihahdt- I have a hot date tonight- synonomous with "toligtifmh"

I don't know any else

Because like i have been saying the whole thread, innocent, accidental mistakes do happen and are fine. Obviously I mistyped the title and missed out the ' . I did not leave it out on purpose. :D Hey look, theres a lovely little bridge over there, why don't you go and troll around under it little troll man :) Besides that was a grammer not spelling mistake, and I haven't got around to posting a topic about that yet so when i do please do take a look and feel free to pull me up on any more such mistakes or even if you want add to the topic in a thougtful and constructive way 8O  :P

no i agree with N8. Obviously grammatical errors happen, but its a deliberate shortening of words (and i dont even think its to save time unfortunately) that gets on my tits. thankfully, this forums not too bad. you should see local forums i use, where the skenks of the world seem to hang about. or another thing that gets on my balls, is people trying to talk in their local dialect. im from dundee, in scotland, i'll give you a wee example.

So anywyz em doon the clubby whin tammy turns up n tels me shes up the duff ken, so like, eh wis pure shocked man and rang meh maw who telt us to make sure i got some johnnies before goin up the road wi tam.

etc. etc.

I hate the way people don't know the difference between:

they're
there
their

and when to use them.

Also:

your
you're

Apostrophes indicate missing letters, so it isn't (or is not !) hard to work out.

That is all.

Some people are good at spelling, some people are sh1t at spelling, it's no big deal hey :?:
Some people are good at sport, other people are lame at sport... we all have our strengths and weaknesses!

(unless you're me who is brilliant at everything :D )

but thats just it, its people who can spell perfectly well and choose not to, for whatever reason they have, i dunno, i mean i went to school and learned shit for a reason, anyway, back to my point, its these people that bug me so much. if there really is some poor fool who can't spell for shit then i feel sorry for them and i won't hassle them, its the lazy "txtspk" (or as lee_w calls it "youth text" :D) B_____ of the world i despise!!!

Rant over. Im not speaking of this again. (now see how bad my grammar is?)

Quite Brilliant 8O

Yeah, cheers Russ, well done. I typed it quickly and didn't think about the spelling and made an innocent mistake and you pointed it out. Hang on a minute there while i go to the medal shop for you and get you a medal or cup or something

If you read the thread then you'll see i've never had a go at anyone for a mistake like this but only for something completely different, i.e. deliberately missing out letters or spelling simple words in a shortened way. A small example list of I put in the original post.

Run along to the spelling bee now....
