who up for the last ever Turnmills!

Johnny come lately clubs compared to Turnmills those Olly. Tom the head door bod was English, Nico was South African, can't remember what the Scouser (I think) who really ran the security from the back office was called.

the guys who came round with the torches were pretty nasty though..

Yeah, I probably missed out on bad treatment because we did nights down there and knew the owners etc.

Having said that, if anyone was worse than the bouncers at Key were, I'd be surprised....

No fun ruiners with torches at Trade...just blatant organised dealing. Go up the stairs - if the lights are on, just act normal! (they had a system for when the undercover operators came in.)

TRUE!

being dragged into a backroom with a mate and both mistaken for dealers is not one of my fonder memories

Apart from that, I loved The Key, which is the one I really miss - hard to explain why you prefer certain clubs - size, people, music - it just worked for me

Bagleys/Canvas was a bit of a nightmare at times - wrong 'uns aplenty and then it took forever to get to the gents when the exits were all bottlenecked

had some brilliant times on the roof of the key sunday mornings , must have been 2006 i think. Was brilliant you could be out on the sunny roof terrace then go back down through an empty canvas into The Key for dark basement style rave. Both totally different but you had the option of either , brilliant

deep, down & dirty?

Turnmills bouncers escorted my very drunken mate out of Turnmills after 12hrs clubbing in there. Jon was protesting with them "mate he hasn't even done any drugs!" to which one replied "yeah - that's the problem!!" haha.... don't think they were all bad :)

I never thought the setup of Turnmills was ideal (felt like a party in someone's basement back home in the suburbs ) but the music, vibe, etc. was always top notch when I visited. Had a few great nights there!

I liked the Key too. And the End. In fact, probably my 3 favorite clubs in London

It wasn't the Erick lookalikely chap was it? Did he DJ for once or did I imagine that?

Whilst we are reminiscing about Turnmills which I did love! The Early Sanchez nights were good, nothing ground breaking but just decent music all night long.

I have to say The End was my Fav club in London, what a place that was especially when Garnier was in the house. I will never forget the closing party on sunday afternoon! It went on and on and on, soo many smiley faces and lots teary ones as well. Amazing.

Turnmills was the one for me.
Never once had issues with bouncers either. Maybe they knew who the regulars were.

For me it was Turnmills, The Cross, The End and Canvas/Key in that order.

Those closing sets from Steve Lee and Darren Christian in the main room were epic. packed to the rafters till the 7.30 closing time week after week.

But like has been said before, this is all down to your personal experience/memories from each club, and where you were in your life at that point.

Ah, Turnmills! Seeing Clockstock promo with some Turnmills folks on it, brought it all back

Worst thing was, i was living in London 2004-2006 ish but didn’t even scratch the surface. Was living with friends who were at Uni.

Did a frequent Egg quite a bit and worked with someone who introduced me to Public Life but missed everywhere that is now gone! Turnmills seemed a bit scary at the time :p
