in your profession i'd say faultless fluent spanish was a must and catalan would be a tremendous advantage.
Beckiboo said:Can you speak Spanish/Catalan Stephen? Whats the difference between the two?
Beckiboo said:wow - so it's a bit like speaking Welsh/Scottish/Irish?
Why don't us boring English people have another language? There's always Roman I spose....
I guess it's the same to Welsh, Scottish and Irish.
It's a great advantage, I'm totally bilingual, I can have a conversation with both languages at same time and it helps lots when you learn foreing languages.
But lots of people from the areas where's only Spanish think it's a sinn and think that if you come to Barcelona and try to speak in Spanish you'll be bullied
Beckiboo said:So you can't talk Spanish in Barcelona
So what other languages can you speak Sil? What made you decide to start learning different languages
silvia said:That's excellent Becki!
And don't be shy and post in the spanish forum if you want, everybody is very nice, specially with people learning spanish
ibiza_lou said:Wow, I never thought about going into the Spanish forum - wot an excellent idea!!! I spent 3 years in Ibiza with my Spanish blokey and still didn't speak fluently with him! My understanding is very good but I get kinda embarresed when I speak coz they all laugh!
However, when the English speak Spanish, my Spanish pals said it is very "sweet" to listen to and almost like the Argentinians?! ......
.....but always think we sound like robots when we say "MI NOMBRE ES LUISA!!!" Hehe!
