Which team should Marky support?

Mark - you can't support Spurs, everyone HATES Spurs! The fans are just a bunch of rejects who only got into it because their mums/dads fancies Jurgen Klinsmann!

I'll give you Liverpool though... they are a very decent team with genuine fans. If we had to lose to anyone in the final I'm glad it was them.

I know, perhaps Mockney is the wrong word. Cockney's bad enough!

That said, it still feels like every 'Ammers fan is auditioning for the Dick Van Dyke understudy.

Actually it was, as stated, because they have 2 Aussie internationals playing for them. I know that they aren't usually on top, which is actually some of the appeal, to see a team (hopefully) improve rather than jump on at the zenith.

I don't profess to know much about football, which is why, again as stated, I want to start getting into it, and why I want to choose a team.

Terry Venables is in the running to manage Middlesborough as well so you'd have the Australian (kind-of) connection with him ;)
 
Loving the honesty Mark!

As I think the others have hinted, I'd wait for Morbyd to return. He went through this exact same process about 18 months ago, nmaybe he has some tips.

In Sydney, football was what 'the foreign kids' played :lol: I know the rules but that's about how far my knowledge goes. Oh, and playing FIFA 2000 on my PS2 :lol:

Just start googling every football stat you can think of and before long you too can sound like a football 'enycolopaedia' :lol: ;)

I severely doubt it still, what radio station was it? Radio Lollipop?

There are several valid reasons people support a team:

1. geographic location
2. influence of family/friends
3. a specific experience with a team (met players, first game as a kid, etc)
4. an affinity for a particular player or players

Sounds like by geography, Marky, you should choose Spurs. Friends & family would put you with Chelsea or Arsenal. Player affinity would get you 'boro or Liverpool.

I'd choose Chelsea in your place, of course. Attending games with your mates is a blast and you get the bonus of supporting a winning team.

I think you have the strength of character to withstand the attacks from people who support non-champion teams ;)
