Liverpool. Then you too can sing songs about Gerrard being funking ard.

actually sandi, you may have raised a problem here............as LFC have loads of songs and mark would have to learn all the words. i don't fancy trying to teach you 'poor scouser tommy' at space opening either

support chelsea.............they don't really have songs!! as long as you can say champions, blue flag and chelsea, you'll be ok.

 ;)

support arsenal - my dad's been offered a season ticket because he's an islington resident. Thus you might be able to buy the odd ticket off him ;)

Hmmm definitely down to Liverpool v Arsenal then.. I've always supported my local team in Oz, so maybe I should continue.. but I think I'd prefer to support Liverpool, provided I can see them play, which I guess I can whenever they come down to London?

I'll have to download the songs off the t'interweb and learn the words

You'll never get a ticket for a liverpool away match unless you go in the home supporters end (which believe me is no fun at all  )

heres one....

"in a liverpool slum
they look in a dustbin for something to eat
they find a dead cat and they think it's a treat
the scruffiest b***rds you ever will meet
in a liverpool slum"

:)

Hmmm... what to do what to do..

Seriously Mark- Stephen is a Spurs fan, and we both go to most of their home games, so if you fancy watching some footy then they might be a good bet.

Spurs are a pretty entertaining team to watch these days, and good things are expected for them next year.

Downside is that your missus will be a bit unimpressed!

What about West Ham Mark...? A true honest London team, always the underdogs but slowly proving themselves to be a top premiership side. You'll never get called a glory hunter because they haven't had the success off Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal.
You never get a plastic West Ham fan, all their fans genuinely love the club unlike all these fake Chelsea/Arsenal/Man U fans who supposedly support the team despite living 300 miles away from that area!!

Oh and you DONT want to support Spurs.... that's really scraping the barrell!

Whilst I agree that West Ham are a good entertaining side Becki, and full respect to all the players for a fantastic cup final, I think 'top premiership side' may be overstating it a little. ;)

Hahaha well my gf's dad is a west ham supporter, so then I'd really be in the doghouse! ;) Though I was thinking I'd like to go with an 'honest' london tem...

I'm thinking that jjinit's right though and I should go with the gunners, as it is my local team (I'm looking to settle semi-permanently in the area), and it means I could go to the games with my gf which would be cool..

...In which case I hope Henry doesn't sod off to Barca!

Thanks for the advice everyone, looks like Arsenal will be my team from now on :) :)

No, they're all mockney w4nkers, all pretending they're Ray Winstone or something. ;)

Liverpool are a great team to support. A very very honest and decent team (which is really quite important), reasonably successful, and just really hard not to like IMO.

Spurs are a great footballing side, with a promising future and great History(!), though they have an ultimately embarassing following (present company excluded)

Scoobie - top ten premiership side at least, that can't be denied!

am seriously impressed with the Hammers this season....even after they dumped us out of the cup and it all went tits up from there

They done well!!! :)

Don't be so rediculous. This is your darkest hour Mark. One day, you'll look back on this moment with a clear "what the hell was I thinking" emotion.

Of all the teams in the world, an Arsenal fan is like a different breed of individual. I don't think you're ready to drag yourself down like this. It's like saying you like Hard House or something. A predominent, fundamental indicator of your abnormality of character.

Buckley once supported Arsenal, and now he doesn't. He's too good for that.

He saw the light, and I hope, one day you can too.

Essentially, you'll be known from this day forward, as "The guy who supports Arsenal because his girlfriend does".

Say it out loud Mark.

Spurs are Man City with money........................I could grow to like them!

I like the road signs close to the ground

"White Hart Lane 2 miles"
(but to you one and a half)

:)

Considering most, if not all West Ham fans are from either the East End, or the borders of Essex close to the East I can't really see how they can be Mockneys. Maybe looking a little close to home i.e Spurs fans you could say that ;)

Mark - you can't support Spurs, everyone HATES Spurs! The fans are just a bunch of rejects who only got into it because their mums/dads fancies Jurgen Klinsmann!

I'll give you Liverpool though... they are a very decent team with genuine fans. If we had to lose to anyone in the final I'm glad it was them.

Well not really, my gf isn't much of a football fan so that's a secondary consideration to the fact I live in the area and hopefully could get to a few games in season. I've always supported my local team and seems like the most natural choice. Still tempted by Liverpool though.. going to have to think about it.

I love how Boro have been included, purely due to getting to the UEFA Cup Final.

If only you knew...
