Finland, Estonia, Latvia (Aug)

Riga, Latvia rocks! I had the best time in that city. Went there on my annual "you must leave Russia to renew your visa" trip in 2002. Partied for 4 days straight, including Sunday and Monday. I visited a couple of cool underground clubs playing tech-house and bigger clubs playing pop and generic house but they are all right around the old city or a short taxi ride away.

The people were totally nice - I met some clubbing folks and got invited to a private birthday party at one of the clubs within 24 hours of arrival.

And Latvian girls are gorgeous. ;)

Woohoo sounds great! Will have to pick your brains for the best clubs.. a couple of my mates DJ out there, so hoping to attach myself to one of those tours ;)

Cramlington and Seaham?

North East coast mate!!! ;)

I know, I've got an office in Cramlington and one near Seaham. Just seems a bit out of your way! Work I'm assuming - not the sort of place you go for a holiday, (except Seaham Hall)

New York
random places in Spain that would say nothing to most of you

Going to:
Formentea
Berlin in november for the in-laws 60 birthday
And we have three weeks in august and no idea where to go, I'm up for a road trip to Croatia but haven't started negotiation with Pep yet

That sounds like fun... I've heard the coast is absolutely beautiful.

Yeap, hundreds of small islands, an stuning coast and Dubrovnik in the middle of the coastline.
The only problem is 1700 km from Barcelona and only one driving license 8O

Sounds like it's time for someone to take some driving lessons!

On a sadder note, looks like we'll be flying through Madrid again this year instead of Barca. The connecting flights to Ibiza are better timed for our Aeroflot flights from Moscow... so, unless you come to Ibiza in June, I won't get to give you this Chelsea scarf I bought you  :? ;)

Actually, here's a question: does anyone fly Barca-Ibiza besides Spanair, Iberia, Air Europa and Vuelta?

I think it sounds like we are going to ask a couple of good friends with driving license to join us and share costs and km ;)

What a shame about that scarf!    A shame we won't meet cos my Formentera trip will be in september. Anyway, Madrid is a great city with a fantastic nightlife, they know how to enjoy life and there's always things going on. If you spend there a weekend you can't miss Space of Sound, a day session supposed to be excellent. Makkinero is your man for any info ;)

Vuelta or Vueling? No other companies, only the spanish ones.

And BTW, congrats for your first year around ;)

madrid for me sounds like authentic genuine spain, something really traditional. I´d love to go!

So, Barcelona, Sevilla and San Sebastián are fake spanish cities? 8O

I've been to Madrid a couple of times... great city. We'll probably just do an overnight though (arrive in the evening, sleep in airport hotel, catch morning flight to Ibiza). I've only been to Barca once, which is why I was hoping to work something out.

Muchas gracias, mi amiga ;)

I prefer Madrid to Barca, just because Madrid is more Spanish, people are like you expect of the Spaniards, lively, loud and friendly. :D

Barca is just like some Swiss town, full of cool, organized people who stick to themselves and mind their own business.

Barcelona only for me so far this year to see a mate.

Going to Rome later on this year and Vegas!!

Never been to Vegas before - i'm planning a 'fear & loathing' type experience... :)

What do you mean with more spanish? 8O 8O 8O 8O

So we are a fake spanish town? That's great, we've been asking for independence for hundred years and the solution was asking foreing people

haaha silvia you are so typical spanish with your temper when it comes to your country!

I was just saying that I once watcheda documentary about Madrid and that it had so much spanish history so to me, Madrid in my mind is somewhat very ancient and genuine. I never said anything bad about the other cities however, those were your choise of words/enterpretation ;)

Erm....

Poland
Germany
Switzerland
Estonia
Bournemouth
Luton
Ibiza
Leeds
Wakefield
London
Edinburgh

somemore i think but i canna remember

Silvia, I thought I explained it in my message ;)

And aren't you more Catalan than Spanish in Barca? ;)

I was being pickey ;)
but I thik it's impossible to say which city is more spain. If you have travelled around Spain you would notice that every region is different, Catalunya has nothing to see with Aragon, the Basc Country or Madrid, Andalucía is the opposite to Galicia, Cantabria and Castilla. It's IMO, best thing about this country, so it's quite odd say one city is more spanish than the other :D
