don‘t have it for ibiza alone, but balearics overall is at 53 for that metric currently
Using the posts from 5th & 10th August on active cases and how many they went up, Ibiza was already over the threshold at that point, with only 4 days of data rather than 7. Not sure if they're going up still?
Early on it was silly for the government not to look at it regionally, but now Ibiza are looking over the threshold why would they retract it? If they'd stayed very low it may have looked like a good move but surely not now?

Ibiza alone? or the balearics? I suppose they wouldn't view Ibiza alone so the Balearics weekly cases X 11.8 will give you their figure. If they were averaging 56 a day then they'd be well above at 33

56 newly detected cases on ibiza & formentera in the last 24h.
Wow that's outrageous as a standalone number .

If they did that consistently as a daily average for a week that puts Ibiza in the high 200s per 100k when the UK threshold is 20 per 100k ?

it wasn't like that on a daily basis, it's the last few days when it went up lots. i expect another few days with high figures before it stabilizes

When cases rise like that exponential growth really can kick in. I imagine a lot will relate to that Linekers story earlier and obviously with such a small population a little spike can look terrible, luckily in a place like Ibiza plenty of the people will be leaving the country.
To stay under the threshold Ibiza can only have around 15 a week so when one set of bar staff have 8 then it's never gonna read well.

So that‘s it for me then. My plan was always going last minute in the second week of september. Now Austria has a travel warning for the balearics and a mandatory two week quarantine on return. As a self employed I‘d have to stay home without pay, can‘t do that plus a bit scared about the numbers now as well, tbh.
so joining the club: first year without ibiza since 2006 ?
