Possibly the hills have something to do with it, kinda trapping the low clouds, moisture etc? I know that even on hills no higher than 500m relief rain can be a thing, especially if it's very moist and warm air.

My hotel is same style as Ushuaia, suspect built at same time.

Anyhow all the roofs are sloping tiled so seem fine.

Just the drainage around pool area stuffed, and as result all the ground floor rooms are flooded with about 4-12 inches of water

I guess the main drains are just saturated.

The parking area to side of hotel has motor bikes half under water.

Is the flooding clearing at all? Past experience is that it can clear up in a few hours. San An is fine today, despite a river running down my road last night. But dunno if I should be looking to get a hotel in San An tonight?
