weather update: after the rains we got earlier this week (perfect!), the sun is back.

we are on salinas beach again and I‘m gonna go for a swim shortly!

After last night’s heavy rain, accompanied by thunder & lightning in the West (pretty sure our hill in Can Germa was hit), today was glorious. Lovely sunset walk along San Antonio too.

We had no rain in Figueretas.

Currently waiting to depart a very stormy Ibiza Airport due to heavy rain, plus loud thunder & bright lightning - apparently the only storm like this over anywhere in Europe, according to our BA Pilot!

Clearly Ibiza doesn’t want us to leave…

We was on the London city flight. Over 3 hour delay in the end.

Yes Im gonna give it a go especially as there was 5 of us. Not sure how it works with bad weather but they did mention that they had a problem with the bridge so that could work in our favour.
Funny when your on the same flight, weirdly an older couple who was sitting on the same row as me was at the taxi rank after our train journey and we worked out they live one road away from mine. Small world!

I'm off to the south-east (of England) later this week for a few days, London is expecting 17c. Of course to an Ibizan, 17 is bloody freezing, fur coats and scarves weather, but to us northerners where it's barely been above 5c for months it will feel like a summer holiday! However the bad news is I'm staying on the coast where it will be chillier (Brighton = 11c, still not too bad).

finally a winter with some halfway acceptable rainfall quantities. I know some fellow residents are pissed off because the last few weeks were pretty meh for balearic standards, but it really is what we needed!

I sat facing the sea for less than 1.5 hours at the weekend, and I caught the sun! suddenly i have a healthy glow for summer (on my face, at least). the wind did nip when it blew though, but overall, very pleasant

In the UK?

Thing is peeps don't realise that 17th March is the equivalent of 25th Sept, the sun is just as high (and powerful) on hot days, so still worth applying sun cream if you're a skin cancer risk (like me, genetically!). Being by water s just like being by snow and adds to it I suppose!

Of course being in Lancashire it's all grey again today, so we apply fake sun tan instead!
