What happened to the heatwave .....

They said July and August are going to be really hot and beat the hottest day ever record, altho how they can predict that when they can't normally predict 3 days in advance 
It's probably just giving us all something to cling onto the hope that we're going to get a nice hot long summer

to be the hottest day of the year, its a Friday, so I've booked it off work 8) just in case 
We are facing a very hard summer here in Spain.
It rained lots on monday and tuesday but it was first time it rained strongly in 13 months
Some Spanish areas have water restrictions, in Catalonia it's not allowed to use water for gardens, golf court and pools, and it's only mid may so in june or july I bet 90% of the spanish pools will be empty
And, another problem it's fire. There's usually lots of big wood fires in summer so this year predicitons are the worst

We had that 3 summers ago in Moscow (2002). Not forest fires but peet bog fires. Peat bogs are basically swamp-like areas with lots of dead organic material in them.
There where fires all around the outside of the city (and with peat bogs, it's like a slow burn, almost underground!) and in the city center the smoke got so bad that you could barely see a few meters sometimes.
