 Grrrrrrrrrrr, trying not to get on my soapbox...makes me wonder sometimes why we clean, honest, hardworking, intelligent, tax paying, law abiding (mostly) citizens even fookin bother  I'm hopping it before I start snarling :x

That was such a bull doo doo story, esp. the "31 grand in benefits" quote.

Two of the girls don't even get any money, they get "tax credits".

Child tax credits is just a new name for it. Whatever way you look at it, those girls don't work, have never worked and their mother doesn't work either.

You can dress it up/down as much as you like but the unit of mother, 3 girls and their 3 children are being kept by the state (read: taxpayer)

And it's blatantly wrong.

I think for once the UK govt should learn something from the Americans! Tony needs to have a word with his best buddy Bill! See this article..

especially

"welfare payments were conditional on attending parenting classes."

"reoriented welfare on two explicit goals: marriage, and reducing births outside wedlock"

Do you think life's any picnic for them?

Do you know how little 31k goes between those amount of people?

Do you think she had the same chances and choices you've had in your life?

I can't believe how people are tearing their hair out over the, quite frankly, desperate situation these people are in, for £31 grand!

They need sympathy and help, not universal derision and condemnation.

It pains me to see such shallow-ness from my fellow man, to be honest.

It's ultimately the govts fault. Their the ones who have the most control obver the situation.

But as I said, just let it go ffs.

No, i don't think life is a picnic for them but that doesn't make it right. Hopefully some good with come from the situation if other teenage girls look at the situation of these three and decide to be more careful. The mother admitted that she let them sleep with their boyfriends in her house at the age of 12 upwards? Isn't that criminal?

The desperate situation that these people are in is totally self inflicted. Those girls could have decided to have terminations or their mother could of decided to sit them down and talk to them about precautions before it was too late. But no, that didn't happen. So blame the government, it must be their fault

When you are surrounded by people who haven't gone that way, it tends to rub off on you.

Do you think she said, "no, actually Leeroy, don't worry about the condom, I want the high life, take me now"

It's what people, lacking in the vision and aspiration you are lucky to have, do. Sadly enough.

our schools are funked.

Teachers cant discipline kids, cos kids know they can get away with things.

Heads can exclude kids, but they can appeal to the school board or some panel of nobodies who know nothing of the child, and usually re-instate them.

BRING BACK THE SLIPPER!

No worries Sil. Chewie, you need a capital letter for 'I', as it is a proper noun. Also, a comma after 'life' in the first sentence would make it scan better. After the first question, you need a capital letter....oh hang on a minute...you meant....

(Soz Chewie - I'm sure you are more than educated and just don't take to much care when posting, but why let that spoil a joke, eh? ;) )
