WHAT A FRIGGIN' FUN WEEKEND!!
Friday - Work kept me in the office to late and then I had to go home and pack for my trip. Got myself together and headed out to Fabrique for Steve Angello and St Petersburg's own DJ Romeo. Romeo isn't ground breaking but has a knack of stringing together some fat bass lines (look out for him... he usually plays a couple of nights in Ibiza each summer). Angello rocked
Saturday - Got exactly 1 hour of sleep before heading to the airport

Flew to London to attend the 10th annual Russian Economic Forum. A friend who is head of the Russia-Iceland Friendship Association invited me to attend the West Ham v Everton match at Upton Park. Raced from Heathrow to the hotel to the stadium and walked onto the stands just at kick-off, only to find out I was sitting in the front row of the Directors' Box with the Icelanders

The team owner promised me the Hammers would beat Manchester next month
Back to the hotel for a much-needed nap, then to the Moscow Motion party at Old Billingsgate Market. I was a bit late so I missed Mika but I saw Sophie Ellis-Bextor perform and she is gorgeous

Ukrainian temptresses Via Gra were equally fetchhing and the German DJ who came on between sets was decent. Ended up heading from there over to some private West End club called Tramp and partying until dawn with a friend, a well-known restaurant owner, a famous Russian footballer and the Forum organizer and his wife. Fun night!
Sunday - Woke up feeling rough. Went to a friend's place to watch Chelsea draw with the Toon

Attended an evening reception, then a dinner for Forum speakers, then a party thrown by Moscow nightclub Petrovich at a club called Motion, right on the Thames. Russian rock band Nogi Svelo, which had closed out the previous night's party, was on stage again. Ended up partying with the editors of the Russian editions of Forbes, Newsweek and Financial Times
Monday - After all day at the conference, there was a very posh dinner where I got to rub elbows with all kinds of completely random famous people from the UK and Russia. Later, a couple of friends and I went to Ministry of Sound to see a performance by St Petersburg-based ska band Leningrad (a group so vulgar and subversive, the mayor of Moscow has banned them from performing in the city!). Absolutely blinding concert

Only downside was still being in my rented tux from the dinner earlier (though I was not alone)... which felt a bit odd in Ministry!
Now I'm munching on crappy room service pizza and I'm still a bit tipsy
