Weekend Rundowns

No wkend rundowns post yet, that's definitely the sign of a good wkend if people are still in recovery mode 8O

Fri - headed out really early and met Ferd and co for pre-drinks and then got into Fabric for 9.30 where we got wigs (I naturally got a pink one  ) and met up with Gollum and co. Music was fab from the word go, altho a stupid live act came on before JLC for half an hour (if I've said it once I've said it 1000x I don't know why clubs insist on having live acts, talk about killing the atmosphere  ) Then miracle of all miracles the King of No-Show who goes by the name of JLC actually turns up 8O and plays a blinder of a set. When he played Scissor Sisters me and Tom did both explode into bits all over Fabric dancefloor 8O  Some of our party were slightly more out of control than others (yes that's you we're talking about Paul - 'no it's not acceptable behaviour to go round licking your friends' )

Fabric shuts at the early time of 5am on Fridays  so the night came to an all abrupt end and we headed back to Gollums. I thought Tom was going to put a curfew on our aftershow antics as he had to go to his work Christmas meal in town in the evening but we spent the day drinking and snorting. Popped out at one point to buy a 7ft Christmas tree dressed in wigs  Got to 4pm and Tom had to meet his work colleagues in town so he snorts a bean and toddles off to this fancy restaurant dressed in the same clothes as the previous night to eat a 3 course Christmas dinner - just what you want  Then he came and continued the party @ Gollums, eventually crawled into Gollum's cave early hours of Sunday morning, few roses for breakfast and then at 3pm realised we hadn't been home for 48 hours so dragged ourselves home to see Chelsea walk all over Arsenal

(What about one of these? )

You know you've stooped to an all time low when your in the bath and leaning over vomiting in the loo at the same time.

Friday night drinkies with mates
Saturday fatboy slim gig at Brix academy, it was really good (although everyone seemed to be about 14) :? think i'm just getting old. Went back to a mates house drinking until Dom dragged me home at 10am.

Sunday woke up about 2, and proceeded to cook a roast for 6 mates. Got very drunk again.

Feeling very wrong today. :?

Lovely quiet weekend for us :D

Friday: Joey bought fish and chips in, watched tv and then had an early night.

Saturday: Up early (when i was finally let out of bed  ) and went into B'ham to do some xmas shopping. Lovely meal in selfridges restaurant and a glass of moet to get me in the mood to fight with the many others walking around B'ham. Bought a top from Urban Outfitters and the final present for Joey which i hope he will like. Found a dress for NYE which Joey has put with the other presents he bought for me :D.

Got home tired and bedraggled and wrapped up the presents and wrote all my xmas cards, called in a chinese take away and then watched x factor and come dancing. Had a couple bottles of wine and chilled and listened to some music that Joey my music servant was playing for me

Sunday: Up early again, though after the same performance as the morning before  . Went to see King Kong at Cimena across the road from us as its only £3.50 before 6pm so it would have been silly not to. Very sad film, cried my eyes out, even after we had left the cinema and Joey played on the fact and made me cry even more - meanie  .

Went home to a lovely cooked chicken that had been cooking slowly while in the cinema and then went over to see my mom and finally got to see my little bro who came home early from Dads so got to have a cuddle and watch a bit of wizard of Oz with him and a chat about Santa and how he has to be a good boy and all that. Really love my little onion head, makes me realise even more when i dont see him.

I love weekends like this.

Friday: left work at 9pm  and went straight to the usual place, meet the usual supsects and we end really drunk. As the place was very quiet (friday was the X-mas do night), they closed early and we went to La Paloma with all the staff of the bar, so free entrance and free drinks, but it was too early so we catch the odd orchsetra and all the grannies dancing cha-cha-cha, tangos and boleros. My performance with my friend Uri dancing "passodobles" was quite amusing even for the grannies. Then the orchesta left and arrived the dj, I can't remember who was that but I enjoyed quite a lot.

Saturday: did some home stuff, cooked pizza and watched the 12 victory in a row of Barça 8) :D 8) :D

SUnday: went out for lunch, had a fantastic japaness meal and then went to see Match Point, loved it :D

Two words......

X Factor!! :P ;) :D

I couldn't go out after I was too worked up!!

Who won?

Fri - played a small gig at a sports bar in in Angel, Buckley and X-amount in attendance, then over to the 'mills, but only me and the missus could get in with our mates waiting in the queue for ages, so they all went back to my flat. Spent an hour upstairs then decided the fun was to be had at mine  Bed just about dawn so rather sensible!

Sat - Headed out to AKA then The End - awesome night, with Paul Woolford on top form, wicked breaks in the lounge and a cracking closing set from the Deepgroove boys. The crowd was awesome as well, so friendly and nice and my gf didn't get her bum groped all night which is some kind of record (although some random tried to stroke her hair 8O )

Sun - Went to the cypher press xmas party at clerkenwell house - Cheshire Catz, insignificant Others and Tom Real on the decks, fab night, crawled home at 11 having hit a bit of a wall

Friday - Went out with the husband to see Pam Ann at the Bloomsbury theatre which was hysterical! Got a tiny little bit tipsy ;) and ended up in a dingey unlicensed bar in a Soho basement. It was very dodgy but a welcome alternative to the usual west end tripe! ;)
(I'm not a Soho fan at all.)
pm - Opened presents, got messy and fell over repeatedly...also checked in with b___ o__ who was in a similar state which made everything feel fine! :D

Saturday - Saw the husband off to Barcelona...a bit sad but it'll be good for us both as we've been through some really tough times recently :(
pm - had every intention of going to V___ for an early morning sesh but knocked back far too much wine in front of X-factor and then started questioning my sanity and Saturday night musical integrity...so sat up for hours watching my live incognito dvd (drank more and sang, 'always there' at the top of my voice all on my own! )

Sunday - Braved the shops and went for Christmas dinner at a friend's...hit the red wine and walked home with medieval looking teeth. ...got up for work today and I swear I was still drunk at 9h00. :P

I hope your not being sarcy sir!! ;)

It was Shayne - his version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow was magical!!

I've sent off my application form for next year! :D

Friday: finished work and headed home to get ready for the weekend. After having a hissy fit due to the fact I had no clean clothes (my fault for not having a wash for about 2 weeks) I finally managed to pack a weekend bag (which actually ended up being about 3 bags   ) for london. Arrived in Londres for dinner at my friends for her birthday, and then we caught the bus to the cross for fiction. Had a good night, although music wasn't the best I've heard there.

Night ended at 5am  so a corporate decision was made to take a taxi to Vauxhall for more dirty fun, had a fantastic morning at A.M, probably one of the best I've ever had due to good company and as ever fantastic music. Can't remember when I left or how we got home, but we did, somehow..

Sat: woke up at 4 and decided that the only way to feel better would be to polish off a bottle of wine in the bath and then watch the X-factor.. missed who won because I had to be at my sisters birthday party in Picadilly circus. Had a good night dancing to abba and the likes    and finally got to my dads house where I was staying that night at 4am, decidedly worse for wear.

sunday: lunch with my dad and shopping on oxford st before getting the bus back home. Also had a quick read of the sunday times style magazine where I noticed that 'teasmades' are on the 'going up' section on page 5 - cooincidence???

friday am - started the controversy over take that tickets before leaving to begin the annual office christmas beano. totally wasted by 2pm.........singing A mi manera:oops: , 'My way' in spanish by 4pm. 5pm went to revolution and ordered every shot in the bar and demolished them my boss and his wife. was about to invite them for a kate moss special:lol: before the last remaining bit of common sense for the day said NO. 7pm chatted up by someone claiming to be tania vulcano's agent:? , told him I was married and that camp butch wasn't my thing. copious mojitos, caiprinhas and long island ice teas followed (how expensive are cocktails:cry: ) before stumbling to see ma bitch tania vulcano...........and continue the conversation I was having with her at pacha in august about uruguay's chances of getting to the world cup. ha ha!! anyway, tania rocked and that dc10 vibe was with me for a few hours before i realised how cold it was and that i had football the next day.

sat - football cancelled, largely due to my persuasive powers to the ref, "oooooh ref, its not worth the risk". he accordingly bottled it and cancelled the game. hurrah!

sun - didn't go out sat night but ended up at a friend's house party at about 8am. I'd arrived to take him to the station but eventually left at 6pm after several encounters with kathleen and losing £250 gambling on the midd-spurs game (mido:spank: grego).

Tues-Thurs - Drinking at post-work holiday parties every night, including one on Wednesday that went on until after midnight. Somehow still managed to get to work every day.

Friday - Home from work for a rest-up then off to club Zeppelin's 6th Birthday Party with Ferry Corsten and Redanko. Zeppelin closed over a year ago but now they rent out big spaces and throw parties every couple of months. Corsten in the big room reminded me why I don't like trance. Redanco in the VIP room played a good set but the atmosphere was poor. The Super-VIP "Bacardi Room" had both atmosphere and a killer set by local DJ Katrin Vesna. Still, overall the party lacked something. At some point after 4:30 all my friends left and things started spinning 'round my head, so I went home, ate a snack and passed out.

Saturday - Spent the afternoon organizing my closets and gathered 4 boxes worth of old clothes to give to charity 8) Took the missus out for dinner to a new Spanish restaurant for tapas and paella :D Then we went to club Gaudi for Victor Calderone at about 1am. Initial worries at a half-empty hall (it's a big club) subsided by 2am when Calderone came on and the place was full. Also ran into some old friends at that point. Top evening. Calderone KICKED ASS. Really good tunes and great atmosphere. The last time I remember looking at my watch before we left was 4:30 so it was a pretty early night. Went home, passed out.

Sunday - Lazy afternoon before the missus and I went to the sports bar where I downed several pints while watching Chelsea dismantle Arsenal :D :D Came home, watched Oceans 12 on DVD, surfed the net, went to sleep.

I was feeling less than stellar by Monday... might be the alcohol. :? Feeling much better today though :D 6 days, 2 more holiday parties, one Xmas dinner, and one nightclub visit away from vacation :D

An absolutely class weekend:

Fri: Jacques Lu Cont is one of my new fav DJ's, he was outstanding at Fabric. Great tune after great tune. Never seen the main room at Fabric go off as much as on friday. Good to bump into Barbie and Gollum every once in a while in there on friday, dont think we wouldve made much sense had we tried to talk

Sat: Was tempted to visit Barbies afterhours shenanigans, but I resisted bravely ;)
Final Serious at The Cross. One of the best ones to date, they DIDNT pack it out 8O , and it seemed every single regular of the past 10 years all turned out for old times sake. Such a great atmosphere all night. Oliver Lang and Eddie Halliwell were the best. Eddie is so good technically, and he's got so much energy when he DJ's it's hard not to get caught up in the moment. Hats off to him.

Sunday and yesterday.. rest

he always puts on a good show mr halliwell does. Absolute star if you're feeling like going absolutely mental one evening.

Thursday - I went out after work for a 'quick' drink and ended up drinking far too much wine getting very very drunk, got chucked out of a bar for dancing on a chair to slade so at this point decided to move on to the local cheese fest cattle market club till it closed at about 3am and I was still wearing my suit from work - oh dear

Friday - I got up went to work, realised how much I hated it and quit. I've only been back there 2 weeks and it was driving me crazy. I left work went back to the pub and got quite drunk again but managed to steer clear of the usual holes and headed into Leeds where I had a wicked night and met quite a nice boy! ;)

Saturday I did some shopping and then just went round to a mates house and chilled out with a few drinks and played family fortunes DVD

All in all a very civilised weekend (apart from quitting my job!)

2 things:

Since when had the 'new' arch opened in there?

and how come absolutely no-one was selling in there? I was in there for overe half an hour before I left, and absolutely no-one was selling anything. Quite a ridiculous state of affairs for vauxhall.]

Has there been a recent clamp down or something?

new arch has been open about 4 months or so??? not a massive amount of time. It's a good space for chilling but the dance floor bit seems like a bit of a waste of space as it's not big enough and the sounds/lights are rubbish.
