Weekend Rundowns!

Ah, another weekend report thread. I like being the Spotlight regular in the timezone furthest ahead

Friday - Back from London in the morning and off to work. Stayed at the office until midnight drinking with our top execs  My ride home was via a karaoke bar where other co-workers were partying it up, though my stay was brief (a 2-song performance  ). Home to pick up the missus before going to Club XIII to see Dubfire from Deep Dish, who absolutely ROCKED. :D :D :D The place was packed but not so much so that you couldn't shake it or get drinks. Many familiar faces in attendance as well. Overall, a top night.

Saturday - Got up early afternoon, bought a new computer to use as a network server :D then the wife and I went to a dinner at a diplomat's house which was only mildly interesting but free food and drinks  Home to play with my computer for a bit then back to Club XIII for Seb "I pick great songs but can't mix them well" Fontaine. Another good night out...not as packed but a great party atmosphere and good tunes. Stopped by Johnny's for some pizza on the way home in the morning.

Sunday - Up early afternoon, played with new computer, then off to SportLand for the Chelsea v. Everton match :? Tried to remind myself that a draw is not the same as a loss (guess you get used to winning all the time) and now I'm back at home installing tons of software on the new computer.

Only regret of the weekend is missing Danny Rampling at the openning of a new club called Moveton. They fired the original promoter team (friends of mine) so I couldn't get invites to the opening... though all reports on local forums are that the club sucks and that they kept tons of people, even those with invites, outside to make the club seem "in demand". Gotta love Moscow :? [/b]

FIRST IN THE US TIMEZONES... neeners ;)

I went up to visit my great aunt, she lives about an hour away. Got home last night, hung out with the man. right now, drinking Molsons and watching my Chargers spank the Eagles so far :D :D and chatting with my fergie :D

How YOU doin' Johnny... missed ya!! -xoxo PG :)

I stand corrected   With a little over two minutes, some Philadelphia rookie blocked our field goal and then some other idiot ran it back for a touch down... it is now 17-21 Philly

Hey girl. I'm well... had a good week in London but it's always nice to be in the place where all your stuff is (i.e. home)

Re: American Football. I've got one thing to say:

Washington 52 San Francisco 17 :D :D :D 8)

friday: went to have lunch with my sister and after to get my new glasses, wich I like a lot. My home made pizza dinner at my sisters home was posposed so I spend the nigth at home with my other sister watching films and having some chat about our travel plans.
saturday: spent the day at home reading, gardening and looking what clothes I migth need this winter. At midday my sister, the one of the pizzas, came to have lunch and we chated quite a lot with a botle of wine.
At nigth went out in Palma to have a tapas dinner with my friends , we chated for long and had more wine. Went back home about 2.
Normal and relaxing weekend, a good thing is that Nadal won :D :D

Fri: Headed down to Glasgow with my mum for a day of hitting the shops. Bought lots of nice new winter clothes, and just generally relaxed with coffees etc. Then, checked into our hotel (very nice I must add ;) ), before heading out to meet my grandparents for dinner in a gorgeous castle 8) .Lovely night :D

Sat: Great breakfast in the hotel, then onto my cousins wedding :D Magnificent church in great surroundings. (note to self: must stop 'indulging' at weekends, felt like a could have cried all the way through. anyone? ;) ) Headed to reception at afformentioned castle, where we were greeted with a free bar all day and all night. :D :D Back to the hotel for midnight 8)

Sun: Into Glasgow shopping during the day, then met up with old friends from Dubai for lunch...which went on till half 4pm :D very dark and wet drive home, and now speaking to the lovely PG79 ;)

Yesssss, anyone that beats the '9ers is alright by me :P Christ, thats a SLAUGHTER

Well, we lost... typical San Diego, sloppy chokeage in the last few minutes to open the door nice 'n wide for the opposing team. Losing the lead in the last quarter is becoming trademark for us :?

ps. Dubfire has been AWESOME every time I've seen him... the MUCH better of the two IMO

Matty, looks like 'ol Chi-town's ahead by four (7-3) with two minutes left in the second quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. They're 2 and 3 for 2005.

I don't expect them to win every game.... Seems years ago since the Ditka era, quite possibly cos it was.

You always knew he was gonna go via a dodgy ticker....

Ah yes, the Ditka era. Gleefully overshadowed by the decade of excellence that was the first Joe Gibbs era in Washington :D ;)

The Skins are 4-2. Hopefully we're at the dawn of a new Gibbs era of success.

weekend report...

did i miss another weekend? i had to work late friday saturday and sunday. i did take time off to watch the canucks kick the avalanche's blubbering butts off the ice though, that was cool.

Friday: Went out with Pep's friend around Raval, dinner in a trattoria, then few drinks and then La Paloma. Left around 5 and as there was light at the odd 52 knocked and had a couple of three beers. Got home considerably "damaged" around 7

Saturday: Slept till mid afternoon, went for some shopping and then meet my friends to watch the footy and enjoyed with one of the very best games in ages :D :D

Sunday: Pep's parents 60th birthday. BIg lunch somewhere not far from Barcelona. On our way back did a little motorcycle tour and spent the rest of the day in the sofa :D

Thu: ran my event from the Hurlingham Club in London - what a venue!!! Superb location, beautiful grounds and just amazing corporate hospitality. Had booked Alan Hansen as our guest speaker, he was really really funny and did an excellent speech - a lot of it was tales from his days as a Liverpool and Scotland footballer (Mr PL was not impressed that I had booked a red for the day it has to be said..... )

Stayed for lots of free drinks and food but only till 9.30 - I was totally knackered and had been up since 4am to get to London on the first flight. Got back to hotel, showered, down to the next door bar for a couple of drinks where I fell asleep at the table... a la Buckley (it was just a power nap!!)

Fri: Found the flat I was staying in in Little Britain - fantastic little area, dumped the bags and did the cultural bit all day - walked for about 6 hours - totally knackered by the time I met up with my friend. We found a great little japanese bar in Smithfields, had a couple of drinks there, then moved on to a lovely Indian Restaurant around the corner from Fabric, got absolutely hammered and got chucked out by the staff when they were trying to close up. :?  Had planned on going to Turnmills and to meet Ferd for some dancing and merriment, but friend got too drunk to get back to her place so ended up staying over, which was just as well as I was in no fit state to go to a club..... Great night tho nevertheless.

Sat: Got up with a raging hangover    , tried to sort myself out in time to get to Heathrow for the flight. Got to the airport 2 hours before the flight and found myself sitting next to Buster Bloodvessel from that famous group back in the day Bad Manners - funny as f**k. He was good for a random chat whilst sitting waiting for flights.... :P :P :P

Back to Newcastle, to find Mr PL had bought a new car and picked me up in it!! 8O 8O Supposed to be at 2 parties tonight - but just died of exhaustion on getting back home.......

Friday - MoS. Brilliant music & DJ's, crap crowd!

Saturday - Still no sleep from night before. Vodka, soup and Portsmouth v Charlton game on Pay Per View.

Sunday - The Sunday Times, Gremlins, Some of Gladiator and Match of the Day 2

:P
