Weekend Rundowns

Fri - Cleaned up my apartment prior to my folks arriving from Austin, TX.

Sat - Picked up my folks, and everything started going downhill from there.
Ahh, the parents. Spend a little quality time showing them around the city?

They are here for two weeks, and I am just on day 2. They do not want to get a rental car, as they do not know their way around town. They get bored at home as they do not have much to do. It's a lose-lose situation man. I will have to think of something really creative very soon otherwise two weeks will feel like two years.

Get them a car and buy them one of these:

The cost will outweigh the aggravation

Aren't we enjoying rubbing it in  ? For that money, I could have gone and visited them. I wish they would drink. At least I could get them drunk so that they can spend a day or two recovering. How pathetic a son am I?

fri- starting weekend off very well. take away, dvd and not one drop of alcohol. how good am i. :D

sat- text message from friend did i want to go for a few drinks, make it a cheap one and not get too drunk seen as it is our weekend off. agree. in pub later are friends tell us they will pay for us if we go to sankeys with them. find it very hard to turn down such an offer and end up in sankeys two hours later. 4 am comes too quickly and when club shuts and our friends get taxi home we decide to stay out and go to another bar till 8. on a weekend off it may have been an idea to go home at this point but meet some friends and end up at an afterparty somewhere the other side of town.

sun- its 4pm and im still at the after party. i have never been so wasted in my life and on my weekend off. feeling very naughty. well actually i feel quite happy and have rang everyone in my phone several times to tell them i love them! :D get home finally feel terrible as have had no sleep whatsoever. manage to keep eyes open till 10 ish after some daft film finishes then drag myself to bed.

mon- not feeling too bad. quite suprised! telling myself this week absolutely has to be a week off will see how it goes!

Vfest Chelmsford - absolutely fantastic weekend but i feel like i've had a good kickin and i need to regrow the lining of my nose due to all the poppers

Highlights for me were Prodigy, Chems (I agree with nitey tho, their set needs rejigging or something!) Kaisers were ace too as was Franz Ferdinand. Almost ashamed to say this  but Goldie Lookin Chain were excellent, hilarious stage show.

The B-Bar went right off on Saturday afternoon, probably when i was at my most wrecked point tho! Just before we met and shamefully had photo taken with Jeff Brazier

 of the weekend the selfish (unts who think its right to shit in the showers  and the chav essex boys who got into the campsites with no wristbands at all then walked round threatening to burn tents down!!

:D photos to follow soon

(blatantly copied from another board)

fri - a merry outdoors day, went again to sail amsterdam, got a bit more sunburned, drank lots :D had my bf's mum and a friend over for dinner. went back to the sail area for the fireworks at night and spent some time in an indonesian ship.

sat - shopping during the day, bf was doing lights in panama so went there, the party was funny with all the sailors in their uniforms. managed to get so twatted i couldn't bike back home anymore

sun - felt like poop in the morning but had to go back to the sail area as we we're meeting some friends there. luckily everyone else was equally hangover.

Friday - woke up at 8am, only to be greeted by a thunderstorm outside :x Had reservations about going, but jumped in the car anyway and headed to Chelmsford for V fest 8O
Had to put our tent up in the pouring rain  Not nice! But once the tents were up, we put up our two gazebos, lit the BBQ's and cracked open the wine ;)
Had such a funny day on Friday, no bands were on, but the Carling bar was open, so the whole gang who went (about 25 of us 8O ) squashed in their and got thoroughly drunk and danced to cheesey songs all night.

Saturday - After a terrible nights sleep (never camped before so being in a little tent, whilst it was raining outside was a bit 8O ) we had a quick bite to eat, before getting back on the alcohol ready for the bands to start at 12pm :D Spent a bit of time in the dance tent, before seeing the fab Magic Numbers, plus the Bravery, who IMO done nothing for me  The crowd werent even dancing hardly, and the lead singer kept telling us the stories about why he wrote the songs "once upon a time in LA, I met this girl who dumped me etc etc  " WHO CARES?! Just play the funkin music!
The Kaiser Chiefs ROCKED the place  Although Ricky had hurt his foot, he was still fookin brilliant! The crowd were going mad, I had about 5 cups of p1ss thrown in my face/hair :x  which I didnt wash out until yesterday afternoon  Lovely!
Caught a bit of Jet before heading back to our tent to top up the alcohol!
Chilled out around the tent for a bit, before heading back to the 2nd stage for the awesome Chemical Brothers. Their show was amazing, although I do agree with Nitefly, that their set does need changing. It was the same one they played at all the other festivals this year... but it was still quality ;)
Back to the tent (these festivals really should go on later than 11pm! :x ) for some more naughtiness and a quick smoke before bed

Sunday - Woke up feeling pretty destroyed 8O But straight back on the wine in true festival styleee and back out at 12pm for a boogie in the dance tent for Dvil 9, who were really good. Then onto the main V stage for Athlete (boring! :? ) and Embrace who totally rocked the show... I wasn't expecting them to be this good, but everyone loved them :D
Missed Franz Ferdinand :x coz by this time we'd been smoking all day, and for people who dont normally smoke at all we were getting a bit :? 8O so back to the tent for a snack and some drink ;)
Chilled by the tent for a while then out again for the FAB Prodigy :D The highlight of my weekend. I've LOVED the Prodigy since I was about 11, when I bought their first album, so to finally see them live was amazing. They played a classic set, some old skool hardcore thrown in their, with all their best tunes. They finished with "Out of Space" one of my all time fave songs :D :D :D The crowd were crazy... moshing everywhere. Me and 1 other mate had managed to get down the front, everyone else was near the back (wimps  ) and OMG I was getting pushed about, punched, trodden on etc! Was definately worth it though :P

Monday - woke up to more rain  quickly packed up our tent, left about half of it there  then began the journey home  Luckily we took the scenic route home and done it in about an hour. Some of our friends who took the A12 didnt get home until about 3 hours after us, there was so much traffic!

Highlights:

The Prodigy
Embrace
Magic Numbers
Chemical Bros
Evil 9
The Carling bar on Friday
Arriving early on Friday and getting a wicked campsite ;)
Being with about 25 brilliant friends :D
Getting stoned and running about the campsite in the dark

Lows:

The toilets :x Hello were they ever cleaned?!
The smell coming from the toilets (yuk!)
Someone doing a poo next to my mates tent  8O
All the stalls there not selling lemonade because Virgin doesnt make it's own brand lemonade?! Whats that all about :?
The rain - damp clothes all weekend is not good

But YAY I had such a good time :D Bring on next year ;)

Planned on Farina on friday and checking out Sasha over at Digital on the sat.

Last minute change ended up with me going to V as well :) (Staffs one).. review and pics later

We were near Tower 5, gate 5. We had about 15 tents, and two gazebos, all in a big circle. It was so squashed though! I didnt realise people were literally camping on top of eachother, I thought you'd all have your own field or something lol

Where was this mystery bar that was open late? Everytime the acts would finish at 11pm, me and Jon would walk round trying to find somewhere that was still open, but everyone told us that all the tents were closed. Yet when we went to bed, lying in our tent, we could hear pumping house being played, and people cheering and clapping! :?
We called it the Mystery tent, because we could never find it :(

We had a gazebo in the middle as well, started off as a big circle but then moved in closer together to stop other people pitching in the middle of us!!

The arena all closes at 11 but this mystery bar  was between gates 3 and 4 to the arena. the sign on the front said BAR BAR BAR so thats what we called it  its just a drinks tent in the day but dj's after the arena closes for a few hours, inside was hot and sweaty and outside there were hundreds of people dancing. We went to get food on sat night and then went to investigate where all the noise was coming from! :D :D
