Friday - woke up at 8am, only to be greeted by a thunderstorm outside :x Had reservations about going, but jumped in the car anyway and headed to Chelmsford for V fest
Had to put our tent up in the pouring rain

Not nice! But once the tents were up, we put up our two gazebos, lit the BBQ's and cracked open the wine
Had such a funny day on Friday, no bands were on, but the Carling bar was open, so the whole gang who went (about 25 of us

) squashed in their and got thoroughly drunk and danced to cheesey songs all night.
Saturday - After a terrible nights sleep (never camped before so being in a little tent, whilst it was raining outside was a bit

) we had a quick bite to eat, before getting back on the alcohol ready for the bands to start at 12pm

Spent a bit of time in the dance tent, before seeing the fab Magic Numbers, plus the Bravery, who IMO done nothing for me

The crowd werent even dancing hardly, and the lead singer kept telling us the stories about why he wrote the songs "once upon a time in LA, I met this girl who dumped me etc etc

" WHO CARES?! Just play the funkin music!
The Kaiser Chiefs ROCKED the place

Although Ricky had hurt his foot, he was still fookin brilliant! The crowd were going mad, I had about 5 cups of p1ss thrown in my face/hair :x

which I didnt wash out until yesterday afternoon

Lovely!
Caught a bit of Jet before heading back to our tent to top up the alcohol!
Chilled out around the tent for a bit, before heading back to the 2nd stage for the awesome Chemical Brothers. Their show was amazing, although I do agree with Nitefly, that their set does need changing. It was the same one they played at all the other festivals this year... but it was still quality
Back to the tent (these festivals really should go on later than 11pm! :x ) for some more naughtiness and a quick smoke before bed
Sunday - Woke up feeling pretty destroyed

But straight back on the wine in true festival styleee and back out at 12pm for a boogie in the dance tent for Dvil 9, who were really good. Then onto the main V stage for Athlete (boring!

) and Embrace who totally rocked the show... I wasn't expecting them to be this good, but everyone loved them
Missed Franz Ferdinand :x coz by this time we'd been smoking all day, and for people who dont normally smoke at all we were getting a bit

so back to the tent for a snack and some drink
Chilled by the tent for a while then out again for the FAB Prodigy

The highlight of my weekend. I've LOVED the Prodigy since I was about 11, when I bought their first album, so to finally see them live was amazing. They played a classic set, some old skool hardcore thrown in their, with all their best tunes. They finished with "Out of Space" one of my all time fave songs

The crowd were crazy... moshing everywhere. Me and 1 other mate had managed to get down the front, everyone else was near the back (wimps

) and OMG I was getting pushed about, punched, trodden on etc! Was definately worth it though
Monday - woke up to more rain

quickly packed up our tent, left about half of it there

then began the journey home

Luckily we took the scenic route home and done it in about an hour. Some of our friends who took the A12 didnt get home until about 3 hours after us, there was so much traffic!
Highlights:
The Prodigy
Embrace
Magic Numbers
Chemical Bros
Evil 9
The Carling bar on Friday
Arriving early on Friday and getting a wicked campsite
Being with about 25 brilliant friends
Getting stoned and running about the campsite in the dark
Lows:
The toilets :x Hello were they ever cleaned?!
The smell coming from the toilets (yuk!)
Someone doing a poo next to my mates tent
All the stalls there not selling lemonade because Virgin doesnt make it's own brand lemonade?!

Whats that all about
The rain - damp clothes all weekend is not good
But YAY I had such a good time

Bring on next year
